There were simply too many things that had to go right with this system in order for us to get a major snow out of it. We don't typically see large amounts of snow from systems coming out of the Northwest, unless there's a trough of High Pressure that forces them further south and then up the Eastern seaboard.

Weather Channel is really playing it up although it looks like the worst stuff will track to the north

No Flame, we root for Mother Nature over man. :)

I'm sure God is receiving quite a few prayers for snow from the Lynchburg area right now. Maybe it will be enough for Him to alter current events :)

Oh everytime the models move the snow accumulations further north those on-air meteorologists jump for joy. That means more people being exposed to the storm, which translates to more viewers for them

I think it's HAARP.

Those people should be looking for work in Buffalo or Erie or Syracuse! No excuse for wanting to bring that crap down here. That's why I left the snow belt. And I think that thing over NY jbock was talking about IS mother nature.

10 blocks from the water its not so bad. Yes, please stay in the mountains, we don't need anymore tourists clogging our already congested roads (especially since people seem to forget basic driving principles once they get here).

You mean Jersey Beach? (formerly known as Virginia Beach?) :D

For what it's worth I've already got a coating of snow at 1500 feet...

Snowing on Rivermont . My kids had some heartfelt words with God, tonight. I hope that I don't have to deal with the whole "unanswered prayers" discussion tomorrow.

It seems to be looking good. Too early to tell if it leads to higher totals.

More than an inch already. Liberty beats Coastal, and snow is accumulating... Dang, I am shallow.

Ironically, right now it's freezing rain up here. First batch is done. Now, to see what happens when the secondary low develops.
