Also in the fine print it said "And sports writer Chris Lang is limited to 10 quality posts on Flame Fans a month."

It does have everything...if you subscribe.

I might be inclined to if the cost to subscribe online was less than the print version. I understand they still need to pay Lang his huge salary (kidding - you definitely are worth far more than whatever they pay you) but it seems they could get more subscribers if they offered a break.

And it was up to date as well.

Tell you bosses they can cut overhead tremendously by simply stopping the print editions. I'm sure they'll love the idea.

5 out of 7 days a week here in Houston the Chronicle loses money on every paper that lands in a yard because the costs of printing & delivery exceed subscription & advertising revenues. The only two days they turn a profit are on Sundays & Wednesdays ... and Uncle Sam is undercutting that business by making direct mail more cost efficient for advertisers. The answers aren't easy to come by for any mass media these days.

This model probably works best. If you're stopping by to read one or two stories a month, I don't think charging is the right plan. If you read all the way through football season and visit several times a week, it's worthwhile to pay something for that service. I'm assuming that if you're a print subscriber you get automatic access to the full website.

Tell your bosses if they put GOOD coupons in the Sunday paper, I will get a subscription.

With that kinda thinking you will probably have crazy people visiting your offices calling for the head of certain sport writers!
(cryptic yes. But Lang knows!)
