Pat Mays will shun the SEC and come to Liberty for a christian education. So let it be written. So let it be done.

A great ending to the story would be a fresh front-page picture of two 9 year-olds of different races having the time of their life on a hot July day.

- Preservation and historical commemoration of the park’s former all-white pool, which was filled in by the city when pressure to desegregate began to mount.
What exactly does "preservation" and "historical commemoration" mean? Are we talking about digging out the dirt and reopening the pool or just putting up an historical marker stating that there used to be a pool here in 1961?

Update from the local fishwrap on Riverside Park:
There was also strong support for the preservation and commemoration of the former Riverside Park pool remains.

The pool was closed in 1961 when pressure to desegregate began to mount. It was later filled in, leaving only a partial imprint still visible.

The new master plan calls for it to be memorialized as part of the city’s history. It also raises the possibility of returning a water element, such as a fountain, to the site.
