If you want to talk ASUN smack or ramble ad nauseum about your favorite pro or major college teams, this is the place to let it rip.

Hello Everyone,
Its been a while! haha

I was messing around with my blackberry the other day and found "groups" in blackberry messenger. Its pretty much a chat/discussion board for blackberry messenger where you can have multiple different chats going, post pictures, charts, and a group calendar.

I was thinking about how cool it could be to have a Big South Sports one for anyone who wanted to do it where we could talk about whats going on at games, scores, post pictures if we wanted to, and anything like that for people at events that have a blackberry and would want to know whats going on at the other Big South events going on?

Thoughts?

I think if you look at the phones currently in use, Blackberry still has the market on all others in the smartphone market. Most of the stats show what people are buying, but as for what people are currently using, BB is still on top. I could be wrong, which wouldn't surprise me, but I'm pretty sure I'm right.

I know lots of people with Droids and they all are slow, they freeze, and just suck. I had the Pre and it was slow so Ill never make that mistake again...

For the most part though, Ive always had a blackberry so Im in love.

I like the BB. I know a few people that have recently upgraded to the BB Torch and they really like it. I'll probably make that move when my next upgrade is available.

I'd be interested in a Big South Group.

The vast majority of BlackBerry phones are company-owned which generally prohibits the use of apps. My wife is a BlackBerry user and we looked at the Torch recently as a possible upgrade. But frankly it didn't light her fire (or mine for that matter). She'll either get a free BlackBerry (since Verizon practically gives them away) or follow me down the Android path.

As for Droids having issues, that sounds like some of the early Android 1.5 phones such as the Eris. I've been on a Moto Droid for over a year and I couldn't be happier after years of BlackBerry allegiance. Its quick, agile and loaded up with free apps.

BB is the only phone I can use to link with company email. Idk if it's true but the reason they gave is that BB has better security. I work for a financial company so security is obviously important.

Security is often cited these days as a top reason not to use a phone from RIM.

The BES is what allowed BlackBerry to vault to its position in the business world a few years ago. But today most companies are cool with using Google Apps for Calendar and other Exchange-type apps. So that is no longer the strength it once was.
