Clarkson said Kiffin asked him his opinion of the recruit and Clarkson said, "You might call me crazy, but you've known me a long time, right? And when I said if there was going to be a LeBron James of football it'd be Jimmy Clausen that turned out to be a pretty good prediction.

Red Lion Christian is right down the road from me. I don't know this kid personally, but know a ton of people at that school that say he's good. Ha, but yeah this is still freakin ridiculous and means absolutely nothing right now.

The kid's names is David Sills V ... that's right he is a 5th. He's a 13-year-old with his own QB coach that he flies around the country to work with on a monthly basis. Anybody think that sounds even more ridiculous than Kiffin offering him?

Here's another article that has a Liberty tie believe it or not ...
Delaware News Journal wrote:Delaware high school football: 13-year-old's pledge to USC stuns sports world
Red Lion QB vows he'll prove the naysayers wrong

By BUDDY HURLOCK • The News Journal • February 6, 2010

Good morning, David Sills.

Friday morning was like no other for Sills, the 13-year-old seventh-grader at Red Lion Christian Academy who Thursday night sent shockwaves through the sports world.

Sills had made verbal commitment to accept a football scholarship from the University of Southern California upon his high school graduation in 2015.

Within two hours of his decision, "David Sills" was a trending (or most popular) topic on Twitter. The crawl on ESPNews continuously included "13-year-old verbally commits to USC" throughout the night. Friday morning, Sills' father, also David, was getting calls from several media outlets, including a request to appear on venerable ABC morning talk show "Good Morning America," with Sills scheduled to appear this morning.
Here's the LU tie-in ...
Sills spoke with a Philadelphia news station after the school dismissed early Friday, when he felt he wasn't the big news of the day. The school was selling T-shirts to raise funds for Red Lion graduate Joe Feely, a former cross country and baseball standout now at Liberty University and recently diagnosed with cancer.

"Look what the back says," said Sills, displaying the T-shirt: "When life throws you a curveball ... smack it to heaven."
