the conference tournament games this year have been nothing short of spectacular. Probably the best year that I can recall in terms of fun games to watch. But I really think this tournament has a good shot at being a let down due to the lack of bubble mid-majors in it. I mean, if Arizona wins as a 12 seed, is it really that big of a deal? No.

Good point...could have some good games...but no real Cinderella potential.

I don't need Cindarella's as much as I want close competitive games. Games that come down to the last few possessions/last shot. Last year was such a disappointment due to the lack of competitive games.

Can't speak for other UK fans, but I could care less that Minnesota got in. Tubby's coaching and recruiting style, however, fits the defense first, second, and third Big 10 better than it did in the SEC which tends to be more offense oriented, which is why he will be very successful there.

As far as UK goes, UK is simply a NIT level team right now with the lack of talent that was left over from the Tubby era. Tubby could have done more with it but not much, the IQ is severely lacking and there is no experienced talent on the team outside of Patterson and Meeks. Gillispie could have done more with it too, but he's the stubborn type that wants to implement his system regardless of what the current talent level is. With that being said, he'll have to start showing results with his players next year as his first recruiting class (which was this year since he didn't have any time to bring anyone in to UK for his first season considering when he was hired) will have a year of experience behind them and a heralded incoming class is expected to have at least two freshman and a transfer make an immediate impact. If they don't then, well, Gillispie's run in Lexington is going to be a mirror image of Matt Doherty's at UNC...

Zags are overrated. They haven't beaten a better seed in six years (and even then, it was a #9 beating a #8). If they get to the Sweet 16, the only way I see them advancing is if UNC isn't in it.
