diving makes gymnastics seem like the most exciting sport to ever exist. i can't watch this stuff, just can't do it. only reason the tv is son nbc is because i'm waiting for some other event to come on.

I know what you mean, kind of. It's more dofficult for me to watch a sport in which USA has no chance, than one where we have a star, or a serious competitor for a medal.

Watching the Chinese men in gymnastics is pretty awesome, though.

big things happening in men's gymnastics for US. Consistency and lack of mistakes are keeping us in the medal hunt right now. Too many events left to make any call, but we weren't supposed to still be in it at this point. Our guys look so focused and detemrined right now.

I've always respected Andrea Kramer, but she seems to be struggling asking good questions at The Cube. The one last night after the men's 4x100m relay ("Who's talking now?!") was too excited, and didn't offer much direction for the interviewee to take it. Now, in her umpteenth interview of Phelps, there just isn't much there.

I suppose there's only so much he can say when he's talked to her so many times.

That being said, I don't care about anything in the indoor stadium half as much as I care about Phelps and what's going on in the Water Cube... I have always been a big fan of swimming and he is just AMAZING. What kind of performance would it be if he turned in a new record, and a gold medal, in every event he entered? He is one of the best athletes to come around in a long long long time.

we use words like 'Amazing' and 'Awesome' too often, IMO. BUT, he really deserves it.

Has anybody been watching boxing? They've got some crazy point scoring system that just isn't working. The commentators are just talking about how it doesn't make any sense the way the points are awarded. The even threw it to one of the guys on the floor for his opinion, and the only explanation he could come up with is that the judges sometimes hit the wrong button which awards the points to the wrong person. As I typed this one dude got punched and almost fell over and he got a point. Whoever gets the gold will most likely not be the best boxer.

Baranyai was trying to snatch 148kg in his third lift in the men's 77kg division, when his elbow popped out of its socket.

No longer able to support the weight of the barbell, his right forearm bent backward. The 24-year-old Hungarian fell to the floor in shock, shaking and crying out in pain.
