I've never ever like Duke but I'm a fan of Marty's. I really liked his game last year when he played a few times. I couldn't understand why he didn't get more PT. I read something about his D being bad but hey, you gotta develop your players sometime. Rotting on the bench doesn't do much. I wish he would transfer because it looks like all of the younger guys are already ahead of him.

The problem with defense is while they say "it wins championships" -- offense wins games. If you can't score, then you can't win. Duke's defense has been solid all season but we've desperately needed someone to put the ball in the hole. Last season, there was always JJ to bail Duke out. This season? Not so much.

I think if Marty goes anywhere, it's not to another school, but back to Europe where he'll get a hefty payday.

I am a duke fan first and foremost but man...I cant argue with that...when they were playing Maryland and they compared stats on both teams...well, Maryland was pretty much the same in every category yet they weren't in the top 25 and Duke was 14...that's when I finally admitted to the injustice.

Va Tech has the best chance at making a run. WF won't be much of a problem for them and if they can get by UVa, then, you're probably looking at a VA Tech vs. UNC. Deron Washington would be a very tough matchup for UNC.

I said if they could get by UVa. It's not going to be a pushover but I think they give UNC the toughest matchup.

well postman, i never said duke deserved to be in the top 25. they are overrated, but they deserve to be in the tournament. i guess pbow has some hatred towards duke and the ACC. what i said was factual, and in the end duke will be in the dance. being at least .500 in the ACC combined with SOS and RPI gets them in. probably between a 7-10 seed. please bring more than your hatred for a team to the table when making an arguement pbow.

After last night's loss I think it complete proves duke does not deserve to be a lock for the tourney. Please bring more than a team going freaking .500 in sort of a down year the ACC for them to be able to get in. And by the way I honestly never hated Duke until the obvious bias shown towards them by the refs, the polls, and the whole basketball world in general in the past few years. I've talked to many hardcore duke fans who think they are a bubble team at best this year. I'm putting Duke in the same place as WVU right, I think WVU's a bubble team...of course I think my mountaineers are much more worthy than Duke for a bid. Ohh and by the way WVU beat NC state by 11 this year.

Congrats to UNC....I am a Florida State fan...I watched most of the game on espn 360 and they just looked tired....UNC is a talented team...though I don't see them making it to the Final Four...but this year its hard to even pick one team that looks good enough to make it....so I guess you never know

pbow, go make a thread about WVA or the big east because you sure do not know a thing about college basketball! duke is a lock, but a lower seed. i think wva is in though they could be one of the final teams to get in. i never said duke was great, but they deserve to be in the tournament much more so than wva. look at quality wins, RPI and strength of schedule which is what the committee looks at. you should look at things objectively instead of having your rose colored glasses on my man. BTW, my hoos beat NCSU twice so what's your point?

I think that most of us in "The Family" understand that Duke's entire program is built arround athletes with a mix of some skill and a dark blue set of ginormous balls! Unfortunately, this year, they've still got the thyroidal testicles but the talent level is way down. When Josh McRoberts is considered your go to big man, you've got problems. Where's Cherokee Parks when we need him? I still think they deserve to get into the tourney b/c of their record and their RPI. I don't think they are a lock, however, b/c there are 9 teams in the ACC that I think could claim the same thing.

ok duke's quality wins: indiana, georgetown, gonzaga, 2 wins over BC, davidson...the only reason i put them in because they won their conference championship. WVA quality wins- villanova and UCLA. both teams have quality losses. now look at the RPI. duke-14, SOS 3. wva-58, SOS-98. the proof is there my friend. granted gtown and duke were different teams when they played and the committee takes that into consideration.
