If you want to talk ASUN smack or ramble ad nauseum about your favorite pro or major college teams, this is the place to let it rip.

True story 3 games ago:
Ref : coach, you need to tell your assistant coach to keep quiet
Mrs Purple: What? How can you hear him? He's sitting right next to me and I can't even hear him!
Ref: I can't either but I can hear what he's thinking!

He was dead serious!

And the Bee Hive should be a good atmosphere, it's 1 v 2.

Where Have All the Fans Gone?
The ACC, Long a College Basketball Hotbed, Is Seeing Empty Seats; The Realignment Blues

It was the kind of college-basketball game that used to guarantee a packed house.

When North Carolina took the court to play Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, N.C., one night last month, it marked the reunion of two storied conference rivals whose campuses are separated by a short drive across the spine of a basketball-crazy state.

Yet when the No. 5 Tar Heels arrived, they found a crowd nearly 2,000 short of capacity. Never mind that Wake is having an off year; it was the lowest turnout for that matchup since Joel Coliseum opened in 1989.

Across the 12-team Atlantic Coast Conference this season, the story is much the same. Average home attendance at men's games, which has fallen in each of the past four seasons, is (as of Monday) tracking 13.5% below the final average from 2006.

But one team on the upswing? Seventh-ranked North Carolina. Attendance at the Smith Center has actually increased the last two seasons, since an average of only 17,786 fans showed up in 2009-10 (that was the year the Tar Heels lost 17 games and failed to make the NCAA tournament).

As for why attendance as a whole is down? The Post reports that basketball ticket sales have decreased across conferences nationally, and the ACC might not have been helped this season by all of the coaching turnover.
I think the bold part is the main issue. 8 of the 12 teams have new coaches in the last 3 seasons. Only 4 coaches have been at their ACC schools more than 3 seasons. That is killing the product on the floor.

Around here, has to be Cameron (Duke) even though I hate that place because it's crowded and hot. It's neat though, because it's such a throwback. Old Reynolds Coliseum (NC State) is about the loudest place I've been. They lost that when they moved to the RBC. I always heard that the old place at Butler is a cool place to go to a game, but have never had the opportunity. Did go to Wichita State a few years back, when they had one of their better teams, and it ranks up there among the best atmospheres that I have experienced. The interesting thing about basketball is that you don't have to have a giant arena to have an impressive atmosphere or home court advantage. Can't say that so much about football, where size of stadium matters. About any crackerbox gym that is packed with vocal fans can be a nightmare for opposing teams.
