On a side note....I thought a bit ago, App put out a PR stating that they were no longer to be referred to as App St. But yet, all through the game, the announcers kept referring to them as App.

I thought that was "Appy State" that they didn't want to be called. App State has always been the abbreviation for them. Barely anyone calls them Appalachian State.

Similarly, I recall the University of Pittsburgh asking for the "Pitt" moniker to be dropped for a few years back in the late 90's, early 2000's; they only wished to be referred to as Pittsburgh." Then, they more recently released a statement saying they no longer cared.
