As sick as this makes me feel, when I'm realistic about it I really can't say I'm surprised (IF it's true, and it sounds like people who would know are hinting that it is). When you read the stuff written in the Seth Curry Hype thread, everything focuses on how stupid everyone else in the NCAA was to let him slip through their fingers. After a while, that kind of thing starts to make a kid think. And more importantly, it starts to make other coaches and ADs think.
I'm actually surprised this hasn't happened to LU more often -- kid gets overlooked by the "big schools" in recruiting, decides to go play for a school like LU where he knows he can get playing time, then uses the hype around his performance to snag a spot at one of the bigger schools that ignored him before. My concern as a coach or AD would be whether Seth's record-setting performance would have been possible if he'd been in an ACC school -- same thing an NBA coach would be thinking, I guess.
IF it's true, I can't wish Seth anything but the best, though I hope he doesn't find himself a little fish in a much bigger pond once he transfers.
