In the wake of rumors that John Calipari is leaving the University of Memphis to take the head coaching job at the University of Kentucky, sources have told FOX13 Sports that Memphis has received permission to talk to University of Missouri head coach Mike Anderson.

From what I've been reading, Bennett leaving is leaving WSU in a state that will take 4 or 5 years to recover from. All of his players are freshman and sophmores and they're all specifically recruited to play his unique snoozer of a style. Any coach that comes in there will basically have nothing to work with. I think this is a pretty dumb hire for UVA but I don't know what choice they had. I think they just finished paying Gillen's buyout, now they have Leito's on the table and I imagine Groh might have one coming up in a couple years, I don't know how long he's signed for.

I just can't see this style working in the ACC.

Uva will never have the athletes that UNC or some of the others get for various reasons. Once you get used to playing solid defense a stop can be as exciting as a fastbreak. Look at MSU. They play the same style with better athletes than WSU. The run and gun teams melt under pressure. TB is a great get for UVA. How many ACC teams went far in the NCAA?? They had one of the worst results outside UNC. Just like in football you can win with defense and you don't need the elite players to do it..

Joe B. Hall has publicly stated that Calipari called him to tell him he was taking the Kentucky job. Said Calipari told him he was going to reach out to former coaches as one of his first jobs as the coach.

UVa will never have the kind of athletes KY had under RP or the few other tip-top programs (UNC, Kansas). But you can beat Louisville, Kansas, or Memphis and just about everyone else with a solid defense and decent offense like MSU , Xavier or Wisconsin do in a good year.

simply put, one of the single greatest (not THE greatest, that is adolph rupp without a shadow of a doubt) hires in the history of Kentucky basketball. The rest of the SEC might as well just begin living with the fact that Calipari is going to turn Kentucky back into a dominant program.

All I have to say is they better hope Calipari doesnt bring Wall, Cousins, and Henry and his other recruits with him to UK or Louisville won't be able to field a team that can even come close to competing with UK next year...
