his story with wallace didn't match up either....his lawyers advised him not to talk...but had he known what was being said he would of talked....how do your advisors advise you when they don't even know whats going on. (it would of been very easy for them to know...heck we all knew who mitchell was talking too)...they should of....either you have bad lawyers (i don't think so) or you are lying....he looked guilty throughout the entire interview as well...

and he waited like 5 minutes into the phone conversation to even bring up steroids...stupid...

this guy has no reason to implicate clemens in this....but he just so happened to be correct with pettit?....bull crap...

Its been assumed for years around Houston that Rocket was juicing. Andy was a surprise.

I actually thought that when taken as a whole that the phone call was somewhat convincing. But Roger's personality hurts his defense.

there is so much going against Roger right now I just can't see him being not guilty...but who knows..how much can really be proven...its just a he said/he said type deal and I doubt that will change, no matter how much questioning goes on...unless of course there is some kind of evidence out there we do not know about....

In my mind, they should be able to prove he is guilty. If not these accusations are ridiculous. I hope Clemens is innocent, and I actually feel better about it after today. I think if he is guilty, they will be able to prove it. If they can't prove it, there will be a lot doubters. I am eagerly awaiting the Under oath testimony we will hear before Congress. If they lie they could go to jail and no one wants that. Also, Andy Pettitte and others will be asked to testify and I am sure we will hear a lot of dirt. If Andy knows the truth about Roger, we are going to hear it.

I'd say that he probably did but there's no evidence of it other than one ex-employee's word. If he were on trial for it, I'd have to give him a "not guilty" at this point.

Nope...didn't happen. I lean towards guilty...but admire his moxie for being bold in proclaiming his innocence.

I don't know all the details but saw the interview on sixty minutes. He looked incredibly guilty by his reaction. He also kept casting his eyes down the whole interview. I'd say I'm 95% confident he's guilty.

I would not expect Andy to say anything at all to implicate Roger. They are extremely tight. Extremely. They live on different sides of town but they work out together here nearly everyday and have for well over a decade.

I'm not 100% convinced Clemens juiced as there literally is no physical evidence and instead we just have the word of a trainer. The trainer gets some backing as he was right about Andy Pettite and the public image is clearly against Clemens at this point. If Roger Clemens is innocent he has gone about this all wrong.

If he was innocent why did he take so long to come out with a public statement. Would he really need to wait to have his attorny release a statement? If he was innocent would he have waited so long to do a public interview, let alone a press conference? If he was innocent would he have been sneaky and deceiving and set up a phone recording? If he was innocent then why didn't he say to the trainer "You know I didn't take steroids" or something to that extent at any time during that 17 minute phone conversation.

People tend to get frustrated and show tense emotions when they know they are either hiding something or have a fear of getting caught. Watching his press conference the other day, as well as the 60 Minutes segment did nothing for me to feel he is innocent. If anything, his press conference and phone call hurt him more than helped him.

This is all fine and dandy but now with the fact that Clemens filed a lawsuit against the trainer, and the trainer I believe counter sued, we will very likely hear even less on this situation because they can plead not to comment due to an ongoing lawsuit going on. Why else would Clemens be agreeing to go to Congress?

Coincidently, when invited by Congress Clemens initially said something like "we will try to accommodate the wishes". Then the lawsuits come out and now he's definitely going. How convenient.

Look, I'm not trying to be a hater or anything, but I'm just disgusted with the state of baseball and I blame just about everybody for it, from the owners, to the players, to the trainers. Heck, I'll even blame us fans too.

I wanted to believe Rocket, and still do. When he insults my intelligence as a person and ball player though it's hard to. During his press conference he came out and said he had not talked about it with pettite and it was not a topic of conversation with anyone. He basically tried to act like the innocent lamb. Now, as a former player at a Christian college, not even a big school, and as often as I heard of guys different places juicing, guys debating on actually doing it, knowing who took them from year to year, who made huge jumps in the conference from it, and as many friends that I have in pro-ball that have said how rampant it is, and knowing exactly who is on them. You have to be kidding me, that he wants to play that card and insult any body else who has been in the game. The worst thing is that I wanted to be trustworthy of him, and liked how forceful he was about not taking them, but when he was just as forceful about not knowing who took them, and never really HEARING about it. I know that is a lie, and he said it just as straight faced as anything else.
Also, when he comes out and says how much of a quick fix it is. Yea, it will probably make you break down later, but he was trying to sugar coat that, because I have seen first hand on what kind of jumps ball players can have because of juicing. It is shocking the gains these guys can make.

Sportscenter covered this piece....basically he could hint at certain things but didn't want to flat out ask because of entrapment or something legal. His lawyers told him not to ask that question basically because if McNamee did say something that would kill all his credibility than he could cry entrapment. Thats how i understood it at least, im sure we have other who know more about law on here than me....

Here is out i see the Pettite thing....Andy only admits to getting 2 HGH shots right.....and we all know that he and Clemens are best friends. So basically its like you not telling you friend you slept with a fat girl because you were wasted, desperate or just figured no one would find out. I mean you don't go bragging about a decision like that to your best friend and have to live with him being dissappointed ( or laughing ) at you forever. You just keep that crap to yourself and try to forget it ever happened.

However with everyone else there has been a paper trail and McNamee says he didn't always provide the HGH or steriods sometimes Clemens did....so subpeona his financials and find out where he spent his money. They tracked down all these other fake doping labs and Dr.'s without much trouble, if he really did buy this stuff for YEARS with the resources the govt has you can trace all this back.

I think you mean sucked with the Redsox...then went on to win a CY with Toronto and then the Yanks? If you look at this stats ( not just his wins and losses, they weren't that much different.)

Also unlike Bonds, Clemens works out just as hard as anyone out there and did just blow up overnight. The guys work outs have been said to eclipse that of Jerry Rice and that guy was a freak about workin out.

no i'm certainly not looking at w/l 's when he was with the yanks in the late 90's early 00's his run support was darn near 7 runs a game....when he was a yank his era was 4.00...the next 2 years? a 2.5 era? really? sure you can make the arguement of AL to NL but i'm still not buying it...

i like roger clemens....i dislike bonds....2 different personalities....and i hope it isn't true, but man, where theres smoke...
