The wife and I are going to the show tonight at War Memorial Auditorium. I'm pretty pumped about it. I never got the chance to see them back in the 90's so I am glad to finally get the chance. To see them in a smaller venue (2,500 seats) should be great. I've never been to War Memorial before but I found a virtual tour online and it looks like it should have good acoustics. http://www.greensborocoliseum.com/virtu ... cfm#start8

War Memorial is a great place to see a show like that.

I wish I was going, but it's not happening. Dads don't get to go to Smashing Pumpkins shows. Not often, anyway.

I might consider it if I still had extra vacation time and I hadn't already seen The Police (twice) and Sufjan Stevens recently. My concert budget's tapped.

There are a few tickets still available. I just tried ticketmaster and it held 2 for me. Give it a shot. There shouldn't be a bad seat in the house.

He's one of my favorite concerts of all time...oddly enough just behind DC Talk as a whole...but that was simply b/c TM crazy climbing to the top of the vines on the lights and doing his raps up there...this guy still has it at 38 years old

I went to see them back in 1994 at Lalapalooza in Detroit. It was a pretty good tour with The Smashing Pumpkins, Beastie Boys, George Clinton & the P-Funk All Stars, The Breeders, A Tribe Called Quest, The Flaming Lips, The Verve, Cypress Hill, etc.

I remember that tickets were $32.50 and thinking that was outrageous. I saw Bon Jovi in High School as well and remember paying $14 for lawn seats (Extreme opened for them). It makes me feel old now when I look at average ticket prices in the $50 range and higher.

I used to LOVE Smashing Pumpkins, but Billy was a real jerk on stage. He just rubbed me the wrong way and I remember leaving (they were the last band) after 3-4 songs. Beastie Boys were awesome. I don't remember much more from the tour as it was a long time ago and I was pretty young.
