I just want to give a public "Atta-Boy" to Paul (Information Director), Molly (Sports Writer) and the volleyball coaches as they work to promote the volleyball program. You guys are doing an outstanding job!!!
Paul has a super sharp mind for numbers and can find some wonderful factoids among all the stats. Molly gives us "the story" of each game and recognizes individual players and their contribution to the team. Coach P. and his staff are always humble, but generous with their public recognition of players.
I give Paul, Molly and the coaches a lot of credit for Kallie's being named the National Players of the Week! Many school and coaches don't take the time and effort to promote volleyball - but LU does, and it’s a unique factor. Furthermore, high school recruits and college players who might want to transfer can see the PR for the program.
It's my opinion that our media/pr efforts will get us at least one blue-chipper a year. Success on the court is huge, but you need to take that success to the eyes and ears of top high school coaches, club directors, players and their families - they all want to see "The Hype" surrounding success on the court.
Recruits want to see how players and teams are promoted. They want to see photos, high-light video clips, and listen to audio interviews of coaches and players. When a blue-chip player says to their friends, family and coaches, “I’m looking at Liberty University” most of those folks will go to the LU volleyball website. If the site is full of good stuff (like ours is), the feedback to the player is very positive and it can help solidify “The Calling” to play for Christ at Liberty.
Liberty volley… the most exciting program in America!!!
GO LIBERTY!!!
