The gathering place for LU alumni to wax nostalgic about their glory days and tell current students how easy they have it. Old hags & bright-eyed and bushytailed recent grads both welcome.

Here's a story from a fishwrap in Ghana on Alhaji pumping up his former pupil Michael Essian is the next great soccer star int he world:
'Essien will be world's best footballer' - Sly Tetteh
Sammy Heywood Okine , 07/07/2007

Alhaji Sly Tetteh, President of Dansoman-based Premier Division side Liberty Professionals FC, has described Chelsea and Black Stars dynamo Michael Essien as a player with all the qualities of becoming one the world's best footballers.
Born and bred in Accra and Sekondi, the assuming Alhaji Tetteh attended the Liberty University of Lynchburg, Virginia in the United States and later returned home with a mission to inject professionalism into Ghana football.

It is in no wonder that Liberty Professional has risen to become a household name and managed to rub shoulders with the nation’s popular traditional clubs in terms of player transfers and club facilities.

I remember a soccer-playing Kenyan named Edward Tetteh in COMS (then referred to as TVR) back when I was in school. I wonder if this is the same guy or perhaps a brother. Coach Bell had a great Ghana connection working back in the '80s.

Two things:

1. Interesting what he named his organization.

2. Perhaps the soccer office (or AD) can open up some lines of communication (assuming they aren't already working this angle.)

Just shows that making a concerted effort to tap into its alumni resources could pay some nice dividends for LU, as it seems, according to the hits in this forum, that there are many LU alumni in places of influence (non-church related) that could prove very beneficial to the university these days...
