What a tragedy. My heart breaks for his mom. I know the team will work together with the coaches to grieve this unexplainable tragedy and honor his memory throughout the year.

My mother worked at Oscar Smith High School in the main office for almost 20 years. Once upon a time, I myself, coached the swim team and was a regular sub at the school. There's a lot of pride in the OSHS football team. Given the history with the school, I was really looking forward to seeing this kid play. It was hard to read these headlines - as a parent your heart goes out to the parents. I hope the team and staff rally around them and each other in a manner that's reflective of our character and faith.
