After the first quarter we played much better. Really did what we should do those guys though but we don't always do that so that's a positive.

Good game. 99 yard kickoff return. Good composure by Calvert and Probert. Stopping them at the one twice. Happy. Offensive Line did what they had to do.

First game I've watched since last season. Enjoyed it more than last season. Calvert plays like he's been in the college game for a couple of years. Seems like he's quicker than we've seen in a while. Probert impressed me, but what do I know?

Productive run game was nice to see. Makes a big difference.

I hope Calvert's left hand is okay-it was stepped on during the QB sneak as we were running the clock out. It appeared as though it was deliberate (#74 for LU was complaining about it to the ref during the final timeout called by KSU).

Game was closer than the final score, took a complete effort, offence, defense and specialty team. The Calvert threat seems to open up the running game, and his natural ability to feel pressure and move around helps the OL. Last night was an excellent all round game. Probert looks solid! It's hard to imagine how good Buckshot will be over the next few years. Hope that hand is okay.

A good solid win Can't call it great or impressive because we still don't really know how good KSU is I think this game has the potential to be the foundation we can build a successful season on, but there is still a lot of work to be done

PR (I think) mentioned something interesting as far as the play of the game last night on the postgame...there was a play where Calvert threw the ball away from the end zone instead of taking a sack for a safety. If he gets taken down there, that makes it 26-16, but it also gives them the ball back off the free kick. Score the TD like they did and its 26-23 and they have all the momentum. Instead, the pass goes incomplete, Liberty punts, KSU gets the quick score, but Liberty goes on the 5 minute drive and gets the Probert field goal to push the lead to 8 and put them behind the 8 ball the rest of the way.

You gotta give props to Nick Newman, Alpha Jalloh, Lucas Irons, Solomon McGinty and Diavante Brown. It was these five guys who first cut down the KSU runner at the 1 on third down, and then stopped them cold on 4th down on two very key possessions, one spanning the third and 4th quarter, and the other at the end of the game with Liberty up 15 but the Owls moving the ball in chunks following the Mosley TD

Question for those who saw the entire game:

Was there an improvement on our tackling this game?

The reason I ask is because the announcers said Gill was scared (their word, not mine) of this week's game because he had to let the guys hit all week to get ready for the cut blocking. I didn't know if there was a correlation to them hitting more in practice and tackling being better.

I didn't have video access, but 2 long touchdown runs on the pitch off the option tells me someone did not execute Either a missed tackle, a bad angle or failed to get off a block, which per York's call was what happened on the first one when Turner was in position but could not get off the block of the WR

There obviously was some GREAT tackling on the goal line 8)

Tackling was much improved. The long runs were one busted assignment and one slant to the wrong side of the field if my memory serves me correctly. A few good catches, but I think two goal line stands should be discussed a well. The defense showed what it can do when it's not on the field a significant amount of time.

I got to watch the highlights of both goal line stands...and Newman had the absolute perfect hit on the one run to drop the back at the 1, and then the D stoned them cold on the next play. we can't have busted assignments down the road if we are going to get to CSU at 4-0.
