We really don´t have a thread for general discussion of this year´s recruiting class, so here it is. We have pretty much loaded up on OL and have 2 good lookin g QB commits and a coiple of safeties. What do you see us still needing with the remaining scholarships? In fact, can anyone pin down how many schollies we actually have remaining? I´m thinking at least 6 or 7.

My first thought is that we need a RB. We are loaded this year, but with Abner and Rice Seniors, we would be looking at Macon, who has shown some promise when healthy, and a good looking Freshman in Hickson who will likely redshirt this year, and not much else. Here is our prospect list at the position.

RB

Theo Anderson* ...................... 5' 11" 215 lbs
Ryan Bradberry* ..................... 5' 10" 225 lbs
Kevon Hudson* ....................... 5' 10' 160 lbs
LaBron Morris* ....................... 5' 10" 185 lbs
Peytton Pickett* ...................... 5' 8" 183 lbs
Darius Stubbs* ....................... 5' 11" 187 lbs - Syracuse Commit
Deshaun Wethington* .............. 5' 10" 203 lbs

Anderson and Wethrington look like the best of the lot. Both are 3 star backs. Anderson has really moved up and may be out of reach now, but we do have connections with his HS. We are going head up with ODU for Wethrington.

Let's keep this limited to recruiting focus.

As for RBs, Theo Anderson is a fullback so he is a bit different than the rest of the bunch. Rivals actually has him listed as the 2nd best fullback prospect in the nation. But the list of school looking for a fullback these days is actually fairly short. It wouldn't surprise me if we didn't take an RB in this class unless we find one of enough value.

We clearly have targeted big receivers with our offers. So I suspect will we take at least one.

Defensively we have offered a much higher number DTs than we have in the past. So it appears we are chasing that position and linebacker like this staff always does.

The fact that we used a scholarship on a kicker during a year without a ton of available scholies to give shows how much we value a strong leg.
