For those of you coming to tomorrow's game, travel safely. If you need any information on Boone or the Boone area (parking, restaurants, etc), please let me know. I'm happy to help as I can.

Yes, we need to locate a hardware store that sells 5 gallon buckets of Stickem Glue.

Any chance you have a street address for general public parking so i can GPS it? I spent a lot of time in chapel hill trying to find parking. after we park are there places to eat once we are on foot or should we eat before getting near the stadium? what is the latest local weather report you are hearing. Thanks Ronnie

My first recommendation is always First Baptist Church since it's nearly on campus and the pastor is a dear friend. I'm not sure how much they charge for parking. You'll definitely want to be there early. The address is 375 W King St, Boone, NC 28607. The walk from First Baptist to the stadium is an easy one by Boone standards.

The other favorite is the Watauga Social Services lot. That address is 132 Poplar Grove Connector, Boone, NC 28607. This lot is free and has a shuttle that runs to the bottom of Stadium Dr. Without the shuttle, it's a pretty decent hike from the lot to the stadium.

You may also check here http://www.appstatesports.com/ViewArtic ... =209611809 for more information on game day. There's a link to the Appalcart routes on the Parking tab.

My advice is to come early and enjoy Boone. We're expecting clouds / rain and mid- to low-60's. Umbrellas are not allowed in the stadium, so be sure to bring your rain gear. Parking may be a bit easier since the fair weather App fans are falling off the bus pretty rapidly these days. Who knows what we'll see this weekend with homecoming? Travel safely.

I forgot the places to eat part. Anywhere on King St is a good bet. There's also Cafe Portofino on Rivers Street, Char on Howard Street. Sunrise Grill on Hwy 105 is great for breakfast as is Boone Bagelry. We've got our share of chain restaurants, too. Boone is a tiny town with just a few main roads. Stay on those and you're fine.

What I affectionately refer to as THE intersection is the junction of Hwys 221/105, 321, and 421. All directions can be given from that intersection. If you're coming from the Winston-Salem side of the world, you'll be coming into Boone on 421. At THE intersection, take a right to get to downtown Boone and campus or take a left to visit those things every southern town really needs ... chain restaurants, Wal-Mart, Lowe's.

If you wander into the stadium lot, please stop by #76 (row closest to the stadium) and say "hello".

I believe Mel's is now Troy's if I'm thinking of the right place. Used to be open late but never had the best food. Our Mellow Mushroom is the best I've been to anywhere.
