Timely passing and a persistent rushing attack helped Liberty open its 2014 home schedule with a 56-31 victory over Brevard, Saturday evening at Williams Stadium.
With the win, Liberty moves to 2-1 on the season. The Flames defeated Brevard in back-to-back home games, as Liberty closed its 2013 schedule against last November. Brevard falls to 0-2 on the season, following its second loss in a row to an FCS opponent.

We are losing the casual Lynchburg resident unless we play in state or Coastal. The fanbase needs quality name games; "Who's Bryant???" Our student attendance drops significantly when we play any Big South team outside of Coastal. Everyone, especially the hardcore students who rally the campus for games, is sick of watching beat downs of hapless opponents that they don't care about.

When we play good opponents, attendance is one of the best in FCS. Reward the ones who come; they're the future.
