Volleyball Players Receive All-American Honors

A lucky number of seven girls from the Orlando Volleyball Academy’s talented teams endured the sport's national tournament at the Orange County Convention Center and came away with All-American recognition in four of the age-group categories.

The honors were earned from the 12-under duo of Sydney Vach and Brynna DeLuzio to the 17-under pair of Lauren Apetz and Caila Stapleton. The other trio of All-Americans are Jackie Swalchick and Camila Rivas in 14-under and Christina Ambrose in 15-under. Ambrose also earned a spot on the USA volleyball select team pool, along with Sidney Brown of Tampa Bay One/Academy of Holy Names. Stapleton, who also plays for perennial state high school contender South Daytona Warner Christian, recently committed to Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., an NCAA Division 1 program, who signed Ansley Gebben and Gabby Shipe of Orlando First Academy earlier this year.
