When I first met Davon McGill (6’2”/190) last summer he was at a camp playing quarterback. He showed himself as a very good athlete and I thought he had real potential at the position. He and his high school coach thought that he could be an even bigger threat and reach his goal of receiving a football scholarship if he switched positions. He did that and sure enough he is sitting on two offers already.
“I received my first two offers recently,” said McGill. “Hampton and Old Dominion have offered me. Both offers are for Free Safety. It feels great to know that I will have a full ride to play football. I will just keep working hard and see what else is out there for me.”

McGill will be playing both ways this fall.

“I will be playing wide receiver and safety for my high school this season. I prefer wide receiver but I will play wherever the coaches want me to play. ”

McGill has been receiving other interest and also has a couple of schools he would like to hear more from soon.

“I have been hearing from Temple, Duke, Connecticut, Delaware, Liberty and Towson. Temple said I need to come to campus and meet the head coach and I would get an offer. I have always liked Penn State and North Carolina State too. I have visited North Carolina State and I like the campus.”

McGill reports a 3.2 GPA.
