I know some of you may know me, but most definitely do not. But, my 24 yr old brother is getting deployed tonight/tomorrow for Iraq. It should be a 1 year stint, and he shouldn't be in any "grave danger", but it is overseas and it is Iraq. He's in the army, field artillery. He will be leaving his wife and his 1 yr. old daughter, who both currently live in Kansas.

Thanks in advance.
In Him,
Nick Pretty

prayers for sure..deployments, no matter how "safe" they may be, are never easy on families.

I got to skype with my brother on Thanksgiving day. IT was pretty cool being able to see him. He seems to be doing pretty well, but he says that things are pretty tough for his wife (Michelle). For those that have children, I'm sure you can imagine the difficulty of having to try and deal with a 15 month old baby by yourself... but a whole year. It's going to be tough.
We asked what in specific we could be praying for him for, and I think a big one will be his sanity. He's doing a lot of paper work, which is quite boring for him. There is no excitement to what he's doing or where he's living. He also informed my family that there were more deaths to suicide than to causalities within the last year overseas. He said if you can imagine living on a sandy brown moon, that's what Iraq is like. Please continue to pray. I cannot tell you how much it means to him, my family and me!

Just a quick update, and your continued prayers for my brother are greatly appreciated!

Ryan is heading back to the US right now. He has a couple of weeks of leave time for my other brother's wedding (4/16). Please pray for his safe travel as he will be going from Iraq to Europe (somewhere) then back to the States. This is much needed time as the past 5 months have been very difficult on his wife and 1.5yr old child. Very excited to get to see him though. Such a blessing!

Thank you for those that prayed while my brother was overseas! He returned home to his wife and now 2 year old daughter on November 5th. Truly a blessing that he is back safe and sound! Thanks again everyone.
