Sweet Briar professor still missing; no foul play suspected

No foul play is suspected in the Thursday disappearance of Sweet Briar College professor Eleanor Elizabeth Salotto, SBC president Jo Ellen Parker said today.

Parker said in an e-mail to the college community that she had no new information to share.

“Friends, our community continues to hope and pray that Professor Eleanor Salotto will be located safely,” Parker wrote.

Lynchburg police Lt. Mark Jamison also said investigators had no new information to release Monday morning.

Salotto, associate professor of English and chair of the English department, has worked at Sweet Briar for 12 years, said Jonathan Green, dean of the college.
