This post is primarily for those of you that are students or just finishing up school. While the principles in this blog post can be applicable to each of us, it is a much easier lesson learned when getting started in "life". I have counseled a number of individuals and couples about their finances and when they turn upside down, it leads to tough decisions and sacrifice. I hope this is helpful for you.

Paying Down Debt and Giving

we are currently going through Crown Financial with a few of the couples from the newlyweds class we teach.... and its got a lot of good verses and tools to help you recognize bad debt and give you ways to get rid of that bad debt.

i can only find a few instances were i disagree with their principals (like paying extra on your principal with your mortgage) but overall its a good class.

get rid of your student loans as soon as possible....bad debt. i never thought about it and was just like hey its a low rate its no big deal....well i can afford to pay extra on it and there is no reason for me not to....i owe 9k at 2.75%. payments are 90 bucks a month and we are paying $300 a month.
