We now have a tough Wofford team infront of us in the first round, and Appy has a cupcake in SC State. and ya'll didn't even get in. only way it coulda gotten worse is if JMU didn't get the #1 seed. :/

so who wants to hop on the JMU bandwagon?

Actually I'll be rooting for Appy State since I am from NC and all my family went there. And I'd like to see them win 4 straight national championships.

I can't pull for a CAA team. I am thinking Cal Poly or EKU needs to work some magic. Maybe Wofford.

If not the Big South, I always pull for the Southern Conf., because that's the conference Marshall was in until they went I-A.

Tough break, huh? When they announced Wofford at JMU and you didn't show up at Richmond either I thought for sure we were in instead of you. Then it became clear they'd decided more than 1/4 of the field should come from one conference.

I hate to be a griper, but could someone please point me to the best quality win on Maine's schedule? Does Monmouth or UMass get that honor? In truth, Maine's resume looks about as good as yours or ours (except I figured your win over Elon would count for more). Plus they had an opportunity to play their way in Saturday and lost. Yet the committe still thinks we needed a fifth Colonial squad?

I'm with ToTheLeft. No pulling for CAA teams. They don't appear to need the extra support. You're welcome to back EKU with us JaxState fans. Go Colonels!

I think everyone in the country, including Elon, thinks we should been in over Maine. I don't even see how Maine made it over William and Mary, let alone LU! The selection committee has a serious bias against us.

welcome to the club, we've been getting screwed by them ever since we've been in FCS contention. i swear, if by some miracle we lost to towson, we would have wound up in Boone.

LU Denied Playoff Berth Again
Lynchburg, VA- November 22, 2009

It seems that there may be a slight amount of bias on the part of the FCS playoff selection committee. For the third year in a row, the Liberty University football team was denied an at-large bid into college football's only Division I tournament.

In 2007 and 2008, Liberty was considered to be a "bubble" team who heard the disappointing popping sound on Selection Sunday. Many Flames fans recall the pain of November 23, 2008 when LU's 10-2 team was denied a bid after defeating #12 Elon on the last day of the season.

The same fans must be craving that feeling after what took place this evening. Liberty, ranked #1 in all FCS polls, once again failed to get the nod from the committee. After one of the most incredible upsets in college football history against West Virginia to open the season, the Flames went on to defeat defending FCS national champion James Madison and cruised to another undefeated Big South Conference season.

"We just didn't think their strength of schedule was strong enough," stated the head of the FCS selection committee. "We are also under a financial obligation to the CAA this year that no fewer than seven teams from the conference are to be given bids. When all the pieces fell into place, Liberty was left as the last team on the outside looking in."

Probably right. almost glad we lost Pres. now. I would have been even madder if we went 11-1 and didn't make it.

About the only way we get in next year is going 10-1 and the only loss is to WVU or 11-0, beat WVU and then beat everybody by no less than 30 points.
Coaching changes

It appears your intel was on the mark.
