No, he would have to sit. If he transferred within the division, you have to sit out a year. It doesn't matter if you play. If he transferred down to D2 or D3, he would be eligible right away.

Can you answer the bonus question on the possible 3rd player?
Would you be referring to RP?

Losing Brew is a major loss of talent. Not to say it will ruin our season, but it definitely hurts. He would have been the go to player without Blair. This is not good.

Bingo. This shows us who RD really is all about-himself. I don't know how I would react if I was put in RD situation, but this lets the lack of class shine through. RD doesn't give a rip about Liberty, and I think this really tells everything about him as a man.

I was thinking very similar thoughts only it was about posters on this board showing their true colors.

yeah- very surprised at this , seeings as its a borderline violation or so I'm told

Cider Jim wrote:Does RD have any legit job offers yet--either as an assistant or as a head coach somewhere?
Winthrop will be looking for assistants. There is a precident for that one, although unlike Marshall, who brought in Meyer to help out because he didn't know squat about the Big South, Peele has been around these parts. If he were interested in RD it would be for his recruiting skills no doubt.

People in the Big South know RD, they're not hiring him.

It's not about standing up for RD specifically. It's about the lack of class/maturity shown by a lot of people on here who continue to kick someone while he's down. His contract wasn't renewed, it's not like he used us as leverage to get something better for himself. It's like as soon as their was a drop of blood in the water the sharks came out and tore him to peices. I'm sorry if I find it hard to continually laugh and dislike someone who genuinly wanted to coach at our school and gave us 1 of only 2 BSC champoinships LU has ever experienced.

I am not the one who initiated anything. I am and have been ready to move on. He is doing shady things, and I commented on those things. If he wasn't doing these things, I wouldn't have said a word. He's gone, I'm glad, let's move on. But then we here about how he is pestering our current players. Why doesn't that bother you? All I was saying is that we keep hearing that this was his dream job and that his home is always liberty, and then he tries to sabatoge our team. That just doesn't make sense to me, but maybe it does to you, and I'm fine with that.

Well, I wasn't speaking specifically of you. You just gave me a good intro to bring it up. But I really question the "talking to players" at least from RD the coach. This is all 2nd hand junk that we're hearing. I don't doubt that he's in contact with players, but after being so close to someone, it's cold to just cut everything off. It's obviously not a violation BECAUSE HE'S NOT CURRENTLY A COACH. Is he going to steal them away from LU so that he can coach them in a local rec league?

But if he gets an NAIA or DII job...
...they could transfer and play right away.

Illegal right now? No? Shady and unethical? I'd vote "yes" on that.

I will speak for others, but some here were former RD supporters and just reacting to what many of us have known for a long time. I would also suggest, that RD didn't have any levearge to use for another opportunity, and knew it. The leverage he had to get/keep his job at LU has been neutered by those currently running the show. IMO, if potential suitors do correct due diligence, it may a while before he gets a good job, (unless it is in gymnastics teaching Cartwheels 101) :D . This does not mean that he didn't have some good relationships with some/all of his players/administration obviously he did.
I will agree with you on one thing, it is probably time to let the arguments for/against RD go, but if he or others do things to continue the dialog, then people will react, it's kinda natural.

They're tired of him calling. I've heard one say that they won't answer the phone when he called.

Let me say this: RD lied to these kids. He sold them on a Liberty University that did not exist. He told BJ he wouldn't have to cut his hair and that convo was an occasional thing that basketball players didn't have to go to. He lied to fans (me in particular). I'm sorry if you don't like it, but after the way he treated a lot of people, this is just karma kicking him square in the butt.

It's a great day to be a Flame.
