I will be honest manager.....Anthony Smith was not the top 15 in Texas....

By, the way....WU has a player from Armon Jones school who plays the same position....Who is being more productive?

Yeah, I remember the NACA days...Doug Stewart was an All-American three years.......wasn't impressive in two of them

They did have 4 players from Oak Hill Academy who played at the NACA for Riverdale Baptist out of Maryland..Also, there have been a few McDonalds all-americans there....remember TMAC???

The best player I honestly saw in person was Mike Battle.....we were waiting to play the winner...

It is a shame he didn't qualify.....42 inch vert.....9 threes in one game..

Big atheletic guard who could score.....possibly a better scorer than Blair.

LU'sbestmanager wrote:who ever said dwight shouldn't be shooting, is wrong because dwight has a really good outside shot. and he normally isn't bad like that shooting free throws. alex had a bad free throw shooting day against ecu or st. francis at home and no one said anything because he is normally a good shooter. just wait until everyone is back to see dwight play... i bet everyone will be talking about how great he is
We'll see what happens with Dwight. I will believe you, since you have seen him play waaaaay more than me. I hope you're right. He looked like he never shot a three before in his life last night. I'm sure you're right though...he must be better than last night. :D
can't you tell by his shot selection, and the way he does things different than everyone else that he is really good. just look at the things he does and the way he moves. he looks alot different than everyone else. he had 10 rebounds last night. he is a really good rebounder. he is helping us right now. people may question it because we started losing once he started playing but the schedule was set up this way for a reason. the team is young and needed to learn how it feels to win games and they did that with a weak schedule and it got tougher with really good player added to the line up. just wait until he lights up the conference and gets player of the week, week in and week out. when they get into conference it will be tough to guard him, larry, and smitty. buffalo is the favorite in MAC and Lipscomb is the favorite in the A-SUN. we played really good agaisnt the best teams in their conferences. i think we will be fine playing against the teams in the big south. and don't put winthrop on some high horse, we play them 2 times a year, every year. so we know them and they know us. it WILL be 2 very good games.
I believe I said in another post that he had the best shot selection on the team. I think he is also the best player. In NO WAY does that make him a great shooter. So far I don't think our team has a great shooter, not to say Brew won't eventually prove to be the best shooter on the team. A great shooter hardly ever bricks 3 of 4 freethrows though. i.e. Redick

On a side note: You want great shooters, most of them are not in the NBA, they are in foreign basketball. That's one reasone team USA stinks. All athletes, no basketball players.

Here is a link to scout.com's list of basketball players....
I know there are several of these sites....I think this is the best one and Anthony Smith is ranked #99. That is believable, not 15, and definately not 12th.

yeah he sure is, and once he lets that beast out of him he'll be alot better. you gotta see him when he gets mad.

about bj and tyler, those two work really hard after practice and on their off time. bj is always in the gym getting shots up and working on his handle. tyler is in the weight room everyday after practice along with alex. this team is going to be really good. you should see the way that Teejay sets these guys up for open shots. he gets through these little cracks and gets the ball in peoples hands, when their so open that they didn't even know they were. he will be by far the best pg in the conference next year, and i wouldn't be surprised if we sneak up on some teams next year. coach said that the schedule will be more competitive and we WILL be in those games. but as of this year, i have this feeling that dwight will start to take games over more. coach had him playing the 4 against lipscomb and look at the amount of rebounds he gave us... the funny thing about that is that he can do that from his guard position.
