Game? Set? Match?.. Almost there, it seems.

Liberty's options right now:
1. Sun Belt
2. Wait for the WAC to restart football (might be possible since realignment seems settled)
3. Petition the NCAA to play as a Independent in FBS
4. Petition the NCAA to start new FBS conference with schools like Jax St, Lamar, Sam Houston St., Youngstown St., Villanova (FB only), ect.
5. Wait patiently for an invitation to FBS

The WAC thought it dead. Losing App State and GA Southern killed that. Our two options are the Sun Belt or petitioning to go Ind. Both options stink in my opinion.

Even though Brent Thibodeaux has been almost always right, and he said we are out if the running for the last SBC spot, who knows, just sayin.

More musings for those that love to live by every word from the expansion bloggers. Again, I'll never understand why anyone has so many high's and low's based on twitter rumors. At least the moron starting all of the ACC rumors for two years has admitted he was a phony.

I'm coming to terms with this. Five more years in FCS may be what Liberty needs. Hopefully we can make the playoffs consistantly. But I don't think just making the playoffs is going to push us over to get an FBS invite...I think we're going to have to win the whole thing at some point. Hopefully there will be some more realignment down the road.

I am glad they held off on phase two of expansion.

However, if the Sunbelt invites us I will retract the former statement

There was supposed to be a waiting list of about 5k for people to attend LU gms, that was the words apparently coming from their camp. So if that is tru, then with phase 2 pushing totals from 19 -24 the stands would once again not look as empty as u claim.

Seems everyone is waiting, on this invite to go FBS, and then the build is gonna take place, what makes them so sure that people are then gonna pack it in for the likes of Louisiana Monroe or say a Ball State, of whom are FBS. IMHO, which ain't worth a hill of beans no more, seems like ur waiting for a "name" to come thru Williams stadium, if 5k ppl are out there on a list to gain attendance to gms they will be there once the build is complete, that is of course unless those names are not there, which then I can sort of see why ur waiting.
