This is exactly what I have been saying all along would happen. Frankly I think the Aggies are going to discover that grass isn't always greener on the other side.

True, but just b/c SMU and Houston want to join doesn't mean the Big 12 will take them.

They already have pretty good deals in both those areas and they don't have to share. Also, do you really expect Beebe to be able to land ND? I mean he is showing such promise at being able to keep his league together, 2 of his top 4 schools will be gone after A&M leaves.

I honestly don't see ND joining the Big 12. Is it possible that they will join a conference one of these days? Of course it's possible, but I think it will be a while before that happens. IF it ever happens

Maybe this is obvious but why is the B1G not an option for ND?

Furthermore, since all of their other sports compete in the Big East - and the Big East would bend over backwards to add them in Football - why is the Big East also not a "viable" option?

If the only diffeence is "to share or not to share?" the TV revenue, I feel like possibly the Big Ten and certainly the Big East would find a way to compromise.

Neither league has indicated a willingness up to this point. The Big XII wrote into its by-laws this past year a provision to allow individual schools to have their own television contracts.

Which brings back the point what does any legue have to offer ND as they already have their TV network covered? And as for scheduling has ND ever had a problem scheduling whoever they want? Until the super conference madness breaks out idk why ND would go anywhere. If anything I see the Big 12 dying.

I believe your East Coast glasses have you blinded by the glare off the golden dome. The world does not revolve around the East Coast.

I wouldn't call ND's decision to join the Big XII as a football associate as likely. But it is most certainly the only option on the table right now in South Bend that is being considered at all. From a financials standpoint, the friars have to give the idea some thought. Of course, the Irish would certainly prefer a league without Baylor of Iowa State involved and that is likely the primary reason not to join. They would have to give up a home date each season vs. a service academy from which they draw terrific gate revenue.

The B1G & Big East have absolutely nothing of interest to offer the Irish. The Big XII does.

Sure, it does. Outside of LA, everything West of the Mississippi is irrelevant. We've conceded Texas to Mexico anyway.

I agree with all the above. Although I did love visiting San Diego

I would suggest that it likely will be Mizzou but the league would prefer a scandal-plagued school in the Triangle as well as the Terps & Hokies.

You see the Terps going to the SEC. I'm gonna, I would be ecstatic.

Why would they take those three over some combination of Miami, FSU, Clemson and Georgia Tech. I can see Mizzou if they want to get to and stay at 14. The only question is will Mizzou bolt or will they wait for B1G to begin looking around again?

I heard the SEC didn't want to add any schools from states they are already in. So, that leaves Missouri, UNC, Va Tech, Maryland.

Not sure which move would be better for Lib. Obviously an ACC school leaving would create one immediate opening but I don't think that would be enough to domino down to Lib. However if Mizz left that might be the last straw for the Big12 and could create the big shift that was supposed to happen last year which could end up reaching Lib.
