He also said it in context of being 'competitive' on the field. We are far far far away from being competitive and bringing the winning traditions both Appy and GSU have. Appy by far and away was the best pick up in FCS. GA Southern has a rich football tradition. We are eager, willing and hopeful.

That's why I think Benson phrased it the way he did. Giving Appy props for both and CYA with on field competitiveness for GSU

All of which is leading to an 18 page diatribe by logic as to why winning a championship in football is nothing. That our club sports are better then theirs and 15 reasons why Quiz Bowl and cold nachos make us a perfect fit.

'Ol logic is getting tired. It's April 4th and it's snowing. Getting too old for this Haize, at the ripe old age of 20. The snow and the fact that our own fans don't even know anything about our own athletic department...it's wearing on me Haize. I've fought the good fight, I've run the race....but my strength is waning. I've only so much energy in the day. It just pains me really, it pains me that we have people on here saying that JMU is better than us, and I quote, "In anything athletics wise," when our golf team finished 10th in the country last year and JMU was 8th in the CAA.

The thought of us being better than JMU in anything athletics wise is just silly. It pains me to say that but its reality. Heaven forbid that even the strongest Kool-aide drinkers admit this as truth though...

No apologies to golf either...from this flamesfilmguy...apparently not watching enough film of those Flames...hopefully no one on the golf team reads Flame Fans...What a sham...er..I mean shame because there are a lot of kids here who put in a lot of good work that clearly goes unnoticed by even our most "diehard" supporters.

I am tired, Haize. My heart is sick and sad. From where the snow now falls, I will fight no more forever.

I am confused...logic came on bragging about our training staff and championships...then we start talking about the championship JMUs football team has from a playoff system we can't even get an invite too and all of a sudden he was talking about ALL sports?? That is not very logical to me.

I think our athletic department is run better then JMU's but they clearly have a longer, more successful history then us. Which is why they are more appealing then us....for a guy who claims to be logic his posts are so ridiculously one-sided and illogical its not even funny.

That does make a bunch of sense. It lets JMU ease into the whole FBS w/o costing them $$ in an exit fee yet and getting their ducks in a row. It's funny how athletic success buys you more flexibility than cash. Missouri St has a huge basketball following that goes back 25 years to when I may or may not have been recruited by them

This is why people shouldn't get too excited one way or the other. Things are very fluid. There is no reason to get too excited OR too disappointed. Another reason to not think that just because JB mentioned the Sun Belt we are automatically in.

The Big Question...does the Sunbelt have Quiz Bowl...I'd love to see us dominate the Sunbelt in Quiz bowl. Seriously, they think they are so smart...that is one thing I'd love to see

JFF, at the NAQT regionals, they really don't mind if we play out of our region. I could do a little research and find our which region most of the Sun Belt schools are in and take my team down that way to show them how much science, math, literature, history, and geography my home schooled Christian Quiz Bowlers know.

If we can beat UVa, Duke, North Carolina, Maryland, Kentucky, Va Tech, South Carolina, Auburn and Davidson, we should do okay against the Sun Belt schools.

you are hanging your hat on Golf? come on. notice i slighted track and field too. both are great programs but be honest with yourself in the sports that matter to the majority of people who are making these votes to invite, we are far behind. I worked in our athletic department. I have also worked in two other athletic departments since then and each has their own issues. I think LU is moving forward. But we aren't (in general athletics on and off the field) where JMU is yet. If you can't see that then I can't help you.
