The 96-97 Tar Heels team that went to the final four was much the same as the 97-98 team. Just replace Ndiaye with Zwikker in the starting lineup and have Ndiaye take Haywood's place as the lesser utilized 7th man.

We are seven deep when Baker returns and eight deep if Anderson plays this year. In addition, as the season rolls on, we should see more quality back-up minutes by either Armon or Big Russ.

Playing with a small clique at this early stage should help build cohesion, which is something that we lacked last season after Brew was inserted into the line-up. Our nucleous should be tight by conference time. Baker and Anderson are both team-oriented players that should blend nicely with our core group----once they get healthy, of course.

I agree about Brew, but I think it proves the opposite. I think it shows you start out deep and whittle down your lineup as you get into the meat of your schedule. When you get a small group and then throw somebody into the mix who hasn't been playing. The team has to readjust to incorporate. I'm not saying this can't work I guess, it just normally doesn't.

Well, Brew was forced in and out of positions and it totally disrupted the team chemistry and threw everything out of sync.

Baker is a bonus because he is already established within the group--although I see his role expanding this year. I don't see him slowing us down at all. I really think that he makes us better.

Anderson is supposedly very similair to Ohman. So in effect, they may be interchangable at this stage. He should fit in, if and when he's cleared to play.

For those of you with the DirecTV sports pack, you should be able to get the game tonight on either channel 633 or 636, or both.

A Sea of Blue Look at LU

Interesting perspective.
Almost reads like a coach's scouting report. He does know a lot. Kind of contradictory writing though. While he thinks UK is vastly more talented, he doesn't know that it will reflect in the games final score.

not really contradictory...UK is the more talented team, but that doesn't always translate to winning big....

and he says BJ is our best 3 shooter?

Wouldn't that be Kyle? or maybe Smitty...

I don't think it really matters. We don't have a great three-point shooter. Our guys are decent, all three mentioned, but none of them are that special from the 3.

Or, maybe UK is not as good as he thinks? I agree UK is more talented, but he made it sound like a pretty big difference. If that was the case, UK should blow us out. We'll see what happens.

but that isn't always the case...you can have all the talent in the world, but if they don't play well together then it means nothing....i think what he was trying to say that they aren't playing well together right now...at least that is how i read it

i would be interested to know if the people who commented on that analysis were "the world is coming to an end" UK fans or "realistic" UK fans

Kentucky's live stats page has an audio player embedded in it for live radio, in case any of you flames fans wanted to hear the game from "the dark side."

if any of you receive channel FSN-South, the game is supposed to be broadcasted on there, of course that means anyone with cable around here won't be able to watch it.

for folks who cant get fsn-south, kentucky has something called extreme access, you could pay $6.99 for a three-day "trial" and the game is supposed to be broadcasted live. i dont know if the extreme access is worth it, never did it because it costs too much in my opinion.

This could be my first game thread since Toledo if I'm home when it starts. I don't know if I'm in game thread shape or not.

Let's hope history repeats itself tonight, because the LU ladies have already beaten Kentucky back when Rick Reeves was our coach. If the ladies can do it, let's hope the men can do the same tonight.

Down 10 5 and a half minutes in.

We're shooting 16%. They're shooting 21%.

Smitty to Alex, Alex misses it. Foul on us.

They miss a 3, get the rebound but we block the next shot.

Alex misses the layup, Rell puts it back.

12-14, 13:12 left.

Ball knocked away, UK ball.

Ohman into the game.
