In addition to being on the sidelines...I also have my seats on the 50 over on the Baptist side...it was packed.

I know the horseshoe stands look great for aesthetics but keep in mind you are adding endzone seats. That's why a second deck on one side is more attractive seating IMHO.

I agree that a packed smaller stadium gives a better homefield advantage (I cover a team with a 70k-seat stadium that averages less than LU). But building a bigger stadium will help us in scheduling games with largers I-AA schools and the occasional I-A down the road.

Temporary solution for homecomming...we could put the band in the endzone next to the new fieldhouse in temporary stands (behind the flamethrowers). They have had temporary stands there before there last year during William and Mary.

As for the other games...I like the seating the way we have it...pack it out and let the others sit on the hill.

I think the attendance # was accurate.

At my church we went to 2 services because we were running about 80% capacity. Apparently, when you reach 80%, baptists visualize the place a full and turn and walk out (according to my pastor). Therefore, we need to expand seating so as not to allow anyone to precieve a sellout when in fact there were many seats available - if only baptists were more social.

What about specialized beach chairs that had legs that were longer in the front than the back so people could use them on the hill. Sounds comfy to me.

SCAR knows this field. Flip it 180 deg and you have a modified version of a built-out 'bill. (only about 75 yrs older, and minus a track on which to host nationally televised relays)

man, that thing is huge. I wonder what kind of attendance the Quakers pull in. I imagine it looks pretty bad.

I am betting they draw more for the Penn Relays than they do for all FB games combined

the stadium seats just shy of 52,600- so yes- putting 13k in there looks awful.

the relays fill it up nicely, though.

considering it was built in the late 1800's (and rebuilt 75 years ago) its amazing its still there at all.

My question is why did you need to invert the pic medic? The 1st angle is just as good as the second. I think you just wanted a baptist side aerial perspective huh?

Remember guys, we have WAWA in Richmond so I get a taste of Philly anytime I want. Sort pretzels, Hoagies, tastekakes. Plus we also have Rita's waterice. People here don't really get too excited about it yet...Until they try it! YUM!!!!!!
Back to the stadium for a sec though. I wonder if we would brick in our stadium on the exterior like at Franklin Field? That field is really old but it is a decent venue for the Quakers. Does Temple still use the Eagles' field? Talk about not being filled to capacity. Sheesh. Their coach worked with Rocco at UVA too. I think Rocco made the better decision.

I thought the walls at the bottom of the stands were going to be bricked this summer. What happened to that?

Bricks = quarter mill

Too expensive, according to JB.

gadzooks that's way too expensive just for a look.

who gave him the bid on that? I would think a large brick house could use more brick than that wall and there's no way the materials would cost 250k

Agreed, I'd rather put the quarter mill toward either a jumbotron or Scar's salary.

It wasn't just bricking the front of the stands it was walls between the stands and the field house and in front of the FOC. I believe that's what I heard JB say.
