I agree that it is very vague. Hillary Clinton goes to "church"

Hey, just quoting Barber.

I don't know of very many church of satan coaches.

There is a ton of big-time coaches with Catholic backgrounds, more so than evangelicals.

Lanier would be good for LU.

I already used the Sunday School teacher quote when talking to GMTM earlier today.

Oh man I hope Barber becomes a quote machine that I can use in everyday life.

I have posted a sticky at the top of the forum listing rumored potential candidates. As more names come out of guys who fit the profile of what we are looking for I'll try to add them tot he list. Keep in mind this isn't Jeff Barber's list ... its just us guessing where he might be looking.

On a serious note, I hope that Liberty would be interested in Ron Livensie at Barton College(D2). He took Barton to the Division 2 Elite Eight last year and finished with a top 10 ranking in 2005-2006. His team this year is 24-5 and ranked in the top 20 again. He also has one of the best point guards in the country playing for him in Anthony Atkinson, a finalist for the prestigious Bob Cousy Award. He's a very devout Christian man who attends a Baptist church. I think he would be a perfect fit. A Christian man who is a proven coach. Barton College also defeated Liberty earlier this year in an exhibition at LU.

I believe he was an assistant at Campbell once upon a time. But he's essentially a DII coach. I added him to the candidates page.

Initially, I kinda like the sound of that Schilling guy the more I read up on the accolades and testimonials concerning him; they seem first rate.

Additionally, in looking for places online to search out a pool of applicants.

Here are some sites to root around if you're bored:

1. Edit: Upon closer examination this link did not highlight athletic coaching

2. http://www.allcoachnetwork.com/

3. http://www.internationalbasketball.com/nwcoaches.html

My impression, from JB's interview...
...he wants a COACH, first...but one who is a Christian. The COACH is most important. (my perception of JB's comments)

I would agree with that...I think JB would as well...he was very clear letting you know what he wasnt looking for (sunday school teacher, etc) and what he was looking for a Coach...now on an importance level the coach would be a 9 and being a christian would be a 6 or a 7

***Edit, I dont like the way I worded that b/c after re-reading it I dont even agree with what i said...their christian walk in their life needs to very very high

FWIW: threw the first link in for the christian coaches angle, the remaining two are wide open.

I mentioned Lievense yesterday on one of these threads, and I'm glad someone else did tonight. I'd give him some serious consideration. Thanks for some of the personal info Hova, it's glad to know he's a Christian.

Glad to see though you and I are on the same page Hova. I would love to have him here. I have a friend who played softball down there and everyone has nothing but nice things to say about him.

Also, maybe Tom Hankins from ORU as well. He's been an assistant with that successful program for many years.

Haha, and yes... he does look like Pete Sampras... haha.

I thought we were looking for someone who wanted a swimming pool??? My wife wants one, but I grew up with one and hated the maintenance. We settled on a plastic kiddie pool!

This is just my own personal thinking outloud speculation, but do we wind up with a Nutt?

This one is Dickie. You may remember him from such events as "speaking in convocation, 3 or 4 years ago" and "a Buzzer beating 3 pointer to give ASU the win". There's 4 Nutts so maybe we'll look into the other 2. I don't know if they're even coaches. But anyway, I know Jerry likes this guy. Not sure how loyal he is to ASU. Money talks.

Good Christian, and his team was good enough to beat a pretty talented LU team on the road. (I think that was the '03-'04) I'm not sure if he's been successful since. Just thought I'd throw him out there.

No! His name is unspoofable. Surely his parents racked their brain trying to think of everything he could be picked on for. This name is bullet proof.

I'm suprised no one has mentioned Jeff Meyer. Another thought, what if Meyer ended up at Radford with Dunton as his assistant.
