I think 30 is a good start. if you want to put pressure on an AD to make a coaching change, you gotta keep a steady stream of calls and emails from fans coming into him...let it be made clear that the fans (and former players too bballfan) will not continue to accept what has become the status quo

I try...but seriously. if you look at almost every major coaching change, there was a major groundswell from fans to make that change (except in cases where the coach was just plain putrid and lost like 90 percent of his games). If the admin doesn't hear from the people in significant numbers (you know, the ones who put the butts in the seats and the dollars in the till) and hear they want that change...then really you are not gonna see that change happen in a timely manner

Is this really what it has come to? There are much better options for this program than both of these guys. Yes, one can recruit and did a decent job coaching, but all an opposing coach who is recruiting the same kid has to say is "Look what happened last time he was there. You wont be playing for him for long"

Although I agree that McKay would be a better option, Id rather take the field. IF (strong If) Barber can figure out what is important for a MBB coach at Liberty (which I have concerns about seeing how things have gone), we could have a much better coach that is in it for the long haul.

You guys amaze me. Regardless of "if he meant to screw Liberty or not", he did. If there is 1 positive thing you can say about Dale it is that he has stuck it out through adversity (I mean, he didnt right the ship, and it is easy to stick through with his paycheck, but he did). McKay is not that guy. What happens when his best player leaves again? What happens if his talent isnt good and he has a bad season? As far as Im concerned, we dodged a bullet when he decided to leave because of the kind of person he is to run away when times got tough. We had a roster full of guys and a short list of recruits that didnt run away, but he did. Great "leadership" qualities there.

I'm not advocating for him coming back. My "he didn't seek out to screw Liberty" comment was more me learning to understand why he did what he did and not hold a grudge for it.

Also, it's not hard to recruit here. That's a misconception. Liberty is different which provides a niche. Sure, there are certain kids who absolutely do not want to come here. But the opposite of that is true too.

We don't need a name. We've had names in the past and it hardly works out. A coach from a small school, who has experienced success, would be a great fit. Big name coaches are used to our type of facilities and budget. Small school coaches don't have that luxury, meaning they will have an enormous amount of appreciation for our resources.
What is your experience in recruiting that has made you believe that it is not that difficult at Liberty?? We are probably one of the hardest universities to recruit for...

Wasnt saying you were advocating. Just using your terms as an example because I thought it was a good point.

he didnt screw Liberty..this is just hilarious to me. If I am making 150k with the chance of making 300k then thats a no brainer..look at the recruits that he was going to bring in and the careers that they had..ovie soko, Darious Theus, Bo Barnes..SETH CURRY!! i mean McKay is a huge get for Liberty!!!

this is laughable..everyone on this board is taking another job at an ACC school that is paying double of what you are currently making..yall are hypocrites..essentially if a coach leaves a school to take another job then he is screwing the school right?

So, by your logic, why would he leave to come back to Liberty for less money?

When Richie McKay was coaching at Liberty he was making six hundred thousand dollars a year. 175,000 came from Liberty and the rest was a carryover from his contract with New Mexico. I think it's pretty safe to say when that contract expired he would have received an increase from LU.

thats a pretty big assumption..why didnt he get a bonus after setting a school record? you dont think that played into his decision..you cant argue with irrational people...
