Actually there is plenty to report on before its official ... if there is any validity. Allegedly there was an interview with another MU candidate at Greenbrier yesterday which was tracked by FAA flight plans. You can get very creative in chasing such leads down.

Once again, Huntington is not a big town and if Coach Rocco is a serious candidate they will not be able to keep that a secret. The fact there is no one seriously suggesting him on any of their boards leads me to believe our concerns are overstated at the moment.

Yes, and Greenbriar is what, about a 2 hour drive, if that? The only point being that the fact that there are no flights doesn't rule a meeting out.

I'm not saying there wasn't a meeting. I'm not sure if there was or not. I don't have the ear of Marshall's AD, and I'm not sure he'd tell me anything anyway. ADs love to be secretive about such things, especially with out of town reporters they have no relationship with. All I'm saying is that nothing will happen with this job today. Marshall wants to interview Central Michigan's coach. CMU has a game tomorrow. CMU, surely, has not given permission to Marshall to speak to its coach on the week of a conference championship game.

i hope for yalls sake it isn't true. Coach Rocco is a fine gentleman, and an excellent coach. Definitely one i hope our HC aspires to be like, as far as turning the program around wise. However when other teams come-a-callin, it shows that something is working out right.

I have to stop reading other threads on that Marshall. There is one where a guy claims that it's already a done deal and they are just trying to wrap up some doner dollars for facility improvements. There is another one where they theorize that a former coach is coming back as head of football operations and they are bringing in a young coach. Anyway, I'm done reading over there.

This is all crazy speculation and I think there is a 50/50 chance of this happening. Timing? who knows.

It's part of coaching. Everyone's on everyone's list - doesn't mean they are considering it. Heck if Rocco leaves in 5 years - Dungy, Beamer, Urban Meyer and Reicht are all on my list - doesn't mean we have a snow balls chance in "Rock Hill" it's happening.
