Your not considering even going yet you are hands down the leading poster. Let those actually interested find out the info they need. If they dont then it's their faults but someone not interested in going and has already said they will sit back with a grin when it doesnt happen doesnt need to be involved.

You sure do like to stir the pot even though working in athletics. You do realize that these tickets are being paid for by a donor to the university who is reading this thread. Lets try to represent a little better.

That's great that they want to donate. What you don't get is sometimes stirring the pot is what is needed. If I wouldn't have been so adamant about it not happening, so adamant about how hard it was going to be and what it was going to take, this thread would be 10 posts and then would've died. It would've been five people saying, "I'd be interested" and then nothing else. With me constantly challenging people to actually step up and do something, it's now over 50 and you're getting phone calls about it. The way Liberty people work is you tell them it can't happen, you tell them it's not possible, you challenge them. It's the way our people operate.

Is this tactic standard operating procedure? Not at all. Am I speaking on behalf of anyone other than myself? Not at all. Am I saying anything that I wouldn't have known had I not worked at Liberty? Not at all.

Whether you like the way I went about this or not, whether you wanna play the good guy and act all holier-than-thou, the truth is the way I went about this thread is what led to more interest, more communication, and in the end, more money so it worked. It was effective.

I really wish we could all be amazing as you.
I have a feeling this bus trip could definitely get going without all your ultra-negativity.

Hold My Own wrote:I just had a FF lurker call me and say that all the tickets for everyone on the bus will be paid for by him. So that just knocked the price down some! Someone trying to head this thing up PM or email me so we can figure out a way for people to pay that way first 50 get to go. If our office needs to promote it some we may.

If this doesnt happen you cant say we didnt try!

HMO = my new hero! Thanks for getting the ball rolling.

Has anyone actually contacted a charter service yet for price and availability? To be honest, I think for this to happen at this late date it will take someone who is willing and able to just say "we're doing this", and absorb anything that isn't covered if we don't have enough participants. having the tickets paid for is a huge step in that direction.

I agree OF and I have the feeling with another win this weekend we might have a few step up and say they will absorb anything over the 20-30 per person.

Although who ever is spear heading this thing please PM me so I have numbers to be able to share with them on costs, etc

I'm interested in this game. The thing I still need to know is exactly whats costs we are looking at but I really appreciate you guys looking into this. Man, we have come a long way. My first Liberty game was homecoming versus William and Mary 4 years ago. There weren't even 5k in the stands now we have people willing to be on a bus for almost a full day to watch this team. What a change. God is truly growing this University. P.s. thank to the person who is willing to cover the tickets. :clapping

Homecoming vs. W&M 4 years ago = 2006? :dontgetit

We had 15,000+ for that game and it was our record crowd until this year's season opener.

That is great news.... I just hope those updates don't say something like: "Flames Club members, LU alumni, LU students come get your spot on the bus to Stony Brook." Because I don't fit any of those three categories. I'm just a fan.

No. I just always wonder why people aren't Flames Club members when they support the school so much on here? I'll be the first to admit that I'm not right now but I'm about to join. I'm just now in a position where I can start to afford it. $50 for the year is less than $5 a month. I used to think there was no point in being a member or that it was too expensive but I've been convinced otherwise. One year we took up money so that FlameFans.com was a Flames Club member at the $250 level but we haven't done it since. I think that was the 07-08 season.

Just curious Jon. I've never been a FC member either. I'm going to join next year and get season tickets. I never graduated from LU. Only attended 2 years, but have found myself gravitating back to the school 10 years later. I would never question anyone's commitment to the school/programs. I love Liberty University and I'm sure anyone else here feels the same.

Wasn't questioning their commitment at all. I know the people that post on here are at games and are involved and all of that. I've just come over to the side that everyone should try to be a Flames Club member if possible. I've gotta make that next step myself and plan on it soon.

Calendar year. Make a FC donation in December and January and you are a 2-year member.
