I have no problem with Lang's prediction, and can see it happening. We have the talent to run the table, but have yet to put together a full game. After the Charleston Southern game, after the 2008 Presby game, every game can be lost.

Random stat time...Liberty has won at home by fewer than 20 points only three times since Danny Rocco became head coach (2006 vs Charleston Southern, 2007 vs Coastal Carolina, 2008 vs Glenville State).

Here are the average home margins of victory over the last three seasons:

2006: 14.3 points
2007: 31.5 points
2008: 29.0 points

The average through 4 home games this year is 26.8 points (26.75 to be exact 3-1 record)

Also, LU , in games the week after road games where the final margin is 7 points or less (win or lose) under Danny Rocco: 6-1 (including the last 4 in a row). In the 6 wins they have outscored those opponents 201-64.

Whats funny (and slightly ironic I think) is I originally was a math major before I switched to COMS. Im pretty glad with how things turned out though...and whats also interesting is I actually worked as a statistician at Hargrave Military Academy for the varsity football team while I was a student there.

Chris Lang wrote: If everything else plays out the same way I think it might ... it won't matter if LU is 9-2. Weird things happen in that Cat-Griz game and if MSU has a potential playoff berth on the line and UM is unbeaten, with the game in Bozeman, I can easily see MSU winning it.
I have two cousins that have gone to or are currently at MSU (both engineering majors) and let me tell you... they HATE Monatana with a PASSION!!! Nothing would make them happier than to see MSU dump UM on their heads - unbeaten or not! Think VT/UVA, only with no other pesky colleges to take fans away (i.e. ODU, W&M, RU, LU, JMU, etc...) It's the OSU/Michigan of 1AA. (yes, i said 1AA).

The cubs have a full time stat guy who gives random stats through out the entire game that are actually quite interesting. Like anytime something happens, they have the stat for it in a few seconds the guy is crazy.

I covered the Big Sky for quite some time, so I got to see a few Cat-Griz hoops games up close. Would have loved to have been in Missoula or Bozeman for the football game, though. No doubt, that's an underrated rivalry.

Presbyterian has something on Liberty that no other Big South conference team does in the last three seasons. The Blue Hose have beaten the Flames.

Last year’s game in Clinton, S.C., was a non-league game, because PC was competing as an FCS independent, but nonetheless, LU coach Danny Rocco said, in the back of their minds, the Blue Hose know they can beat the Flames.

Because they have.
