I don't know if there is any true definition for the term "trap game" randy, but in my experience it means a game that you should win, but where there is a likelihood of overconfidence or complacity which could lead to an upset if the opponent plays extremely well. Saying a game is a trap game is a million miles from predicting a loss. Did you see the scores in the game prediction thread? Noone here is predicting we will lose to ChuckySouth.

I'll be at the game. Looking forward to making the trip, since it will be my first visit to Charleston.

It crossed my mind about going but....6 1/2 hours was just too far to see Liberty beat the mess out of some one... It was kind of like going to the West Virginia game, but backwards...

Charleston is a nice place to visit. Interesting town with lots of history and great seafood restaurants.

As a resident of the "Holy City" (so-named for the collage of steeples that dot its skyline) for 2+ years, I'll second that!

You know the game is not actually in Charleston, right?
Oh, please. It's in North Charleston, about a 20 minute drive from downtown.

A lot of people that have never been there don't know that. They think they can go to the game, go out in Charleston right after the game to get some food, then head back. They don't realize it's an extra 40-60 minutes out of the way to go to Charleston.

Which is true, but if someone was wanting to do some sightseeing before or after the game (or the days before or after), it's only a 15-20 min drive to downtown Charleston from CSU. But yeah, don't judge the Charleston area based on the CSU campus.

But for anyone that is making the trip down and is wanting restaurant or other recommendations, I can help out with that.

Depending on traffic, maybe, but every time I've ever gone from North Charleston to downtown it only took me 20 minutes.

Unless you're counting finding a parking spot as drive time, in which case I will see your 60 minutes and raise you 30. :)

Yeah, in downtown Charleston that definitely doesn't happen. You generally have to park at least four blocks away from where you actually want to go.

Yeah, I took a look at the map and saw where the school is in relation to Charleston...

I would love restaurant recommendations!

Been living downtown for 2+ years. I'll list my suggestions by category. I can offer greater detail, if you like.

Seafood:
Hank's
A.W. Shuck's
Hyman's

Broad Menu:
Poogan's Porch
82 Queen
Fleet Landing
High Cotton
Magnolia's
Oak

BBQ:
Jim 'N' Nick's

Wings:
The Kickin' Chicken
Wild Wing Cafe

Pizza:
Can't remember name, but there's an authentic Italian guy in the market whose open 'til 2am on weekends. I'll be there tonight kinda late.

And wherever you go for dinner, you absolutely MUST go to Kaminsky's in the market for dessert. Unbelivable cakes, pies, and shakes.

Overall, my top 5 must try's in a great food town would be these:
1. Poogan's Porch - took wife there on night of my engagement; try the she crab soup or pimento cheese fritters to start, then have either the Plantation Chicken or Lowcountry pasta. Located near Meeting and Queen)

2. 82 Queen - neat slightly formal and very Charlestonian atosphere, great food. Located near King and Queen.

3. Fleet Landing. Decent mix of seafood and American, but by far the best view of harbor anywhere. Its been mild, so ask to sit outside.

4. Hank's - best seafood in Charleston, no matter what Hyman's claims. This is where locals go for the best. Located just of South Market.

5. Jim 'N' Nick's. Best BBQ. Lots of smoked meats. Very fuilling at reasonable prices. Tv's all around. Check out the 1920's pin-up model above the bar!

Poe's Tavern on Sullivan's Island. Best burgers ever. Fish tacos are great also. It's about 10 minutes from downtown(30 from CSU) Named after the poet because he was stationed on the island at Fort Moultrie back in the day. Poe's is the number one place I take people when they come for a visit.

I'll be at the game this weekend. WIll there be an alumni tent for tailgating and such?

Vendue is good. TC's is more touristy. Not many locals consider that good food.

Ha, you're turning into the tourist town snob. I love it.

I can't talk, I was one when I lived in Myrtle.
