And this is where the argument falls short for me. So basically let's do what we want to do and forget everyone else. Why NOT strive for something that will keep people, if not in their seats, interested in what's going on down on the field. I'm not saying pop musice but something that will entertain a rowdy crowd. As it stands, I keep waiting for them to play the MontyPython clip "And now, for something completely different."
A better way, iMO, to recruit band members is to host a huge band contest. These things are huge and draw a bucketload of people. Why the powers that be don't set aside time for this baffles me. It is a huge subculture. It has everything LU claims it wants: money maker, PR, scores of potential new students and can showcase the LU band! They can have all the pageantry and flags they want...and be more appreciated for their time and effort
