While those of us who have been critical of him had no way of knowing, Armon having a medical problem of this nature would certainly explain a lot.
Remember the discussion of privacy laws when the rumors were circulating about Alex's knee? There is no way RMc would be giving out information of this nature unless it were accurate and Armon had authorized it.
As far as troyywr's comments are concerned, I see absolutely no benefit to this being announced now as far as opening up a scholarship is concerned. We all know that we are currently over our limit when you add new recruits to scholarship players with eligibility remaining, so someone will be out. It is no secret, and there is absolutely nothing unethical about a coach deciding not to renew a scholarship for any reason. Those decisions may in fact have already been made, but they are not likely to be anounced til the season is over.
