I know I am becoming a broken record...but you are completely right....Disney World sucks unless you are 8 or younger...

Love Disney World. Lots of great places to eat, lots of shows and fun to see and love Space Mountain and Tower of Terror.

I am over 8 years old and I love the place. Maybe if you live right by it and it's not a once every 10 year opportunity, it sucks.

I mean I think it's something we all should see at some point in our life...there are great things to SEE...but let's be honest there are maybe 2 or 3 rides that will actually give you that rush that a good ride will give you...meanwhile at Island of Adventure theres about 12 different rides

I mean nobody's getting a rush from "Its a Small World" but yeah...maybe it's something you should be able to say you've seen

but there's so much more to it than the rides. "It's a small world" is in the little kids section of the magic kindgom. Obviously that will be boring. But other than rollercoasters they have stunt shows, 3D shows, those interactive movies where stuff messes with you, etc. not to mention the details everywhere. You're correct that it's not the best place to go if you want best roller coasters.

The wife and I have anual passes and go as much as we can. We love that place. It is a great place to go just to relax. We only live 3 hours away so it is an easy weekend away. With the passes, we never feel forced to ride everything becase we know we can come back another time. We go every Christmas time to look at the lights. I have grown up around the place. It isn't the greatest theme park as far thrill rides, that honor, for the Orlando area at least, belongs to Islands of Adventure.

i havent been there for preobably close to 8-10 years now, and then I only went to 2 or 3 parts of disney world, still havent been to the animal kingdom. 15 years ago i went to all parts of disney world (that\'s pre-animal kingdom, of course). but even though I sadly haven\'t been there in a long time, I recommend going to EVERY part and doing EVERYTHING they have there if that\'s possible. you never know if you\'ll get to go back. i used to go every 4-5 years, but due to health reasons within my family is it no longer a viable option financially and in other ways. so do as much as possible because you might not get to go back ever again!

Why all the slashes whenever you use an apostrophe?

I have no clue why it does it. I think my computer is just stupid. It does it when I use IE or Firefox, so it isn't a specific browser, but it doesn't do that in Microsoft Word or wordpad or any other program. When I type a message, everything shows up correctly, but once I press submit the slashes automatically get inserted. I don't know what the problem is, I havent noticed it on any other site but this is the only message board I post on.

I remember when I went there for the first time (when I was like 8 or 9)...I had so much fun....it was the only time in the 5 years my family and I lived in Orlando we actually went, because despite what many think just because you live in Orlando it does not mean you go everyday....

Anyways, we moved to maine when I was 12 and then moved back down to Florida when I was 16...went to Grad Night my senior year which was at Disney World and was bored out of my skull....the reason....because i had gone to both Universal parks a couple months earlier and loved those so much....

I just think Disney World is overall a boring place...Like HMO said, it is a place that everybody should go to once...but thats about it....I plan on never going back

My wife & I have generally gone to Universal over the past decade whenever we're in Orlando primarily because they let in media for free without many hassles. But we plan on hitting the Magic Kingdom this summer with three kids in tow. I doubt we do Epcot or MGM Grand although we may go to Animal Kingdom. WE fully intend to purchase speed pass (or whatever they call it these days) so we can hit as many rides as possible in our short stay.

Although I have to admit that most of my rides will be aimed at preschoolers. My son already has developed a taste for big rides now that he has eclipsed the 42" plateau. He was an animal at SeaWorld so hopefully I can convince him to join me on bigger rides in Florida as well.

i went there once when i was a young boy and i hated it. but space mountain was the first and only roller coaster i've ever rode. i though universal was a lot better. plus, everything is insanely expensive.

They jacked the prices up at Disney (70$). Alot of snowbirds actually complain now saying it's not worth it, but I havnt been awhile though so I dunno. Like someone said earlier. Islands of Adventure is decent and worth going to and Epcot is always good during the holidays. Seaworld added alot of new stuff and it's cheep now. City Walk and Downtown Disney are the nightlife spots. Stay away from downtown and Church Street Station with all the crime now. If you got time go to Cocoa Beach and check out Ron Jon's and KSC. The weather has been in the 80's so the beaches are still decent to go to.

Air temperature and water temps are not necessarily the same. It the Mid 80s here but the beaches are empty because the Gulf is too cold to swim right now. But as long as you are just hanging in the sand it is all good. The water in the Persian Gulf was much warmer than the Gulf of Mexico.

If you go in the fall (mid Oct) or late winter, (Feb), there are no lines, no people, and the weather is great! All you need is a big stack of $20's (1's are worthless there) and the park is yours! The cost of food is no different than going to the ball park and getting concessions there. It's the price we pay for entertainment.

Tower of Terror is a great ride!
