You can´t just label a program as ¨scumbag¨ because of the uniform or what may or may not have happened there in the past. New coaching staff. New players. Show me one particle of evidence that Pruitt or anyone on his staff fit that description.

Very well stated. Probably one of top 5 sleaziest programs within Power 5 Conferences. Maybe even #1.

I cannot see Freeze going there, unless they give him key to vault in every bank up on Ole Rocky Top.

I´ll concede that point. Forgot he is the AD now. Even if he is a bit of a snake, I seriously doubt he is actually encouraging Pruitt to do anything shady, and from everything I know, Pruitt runs a clean program.

Agreed. I think Fulmer is a bit of a snake, but I don't think he runs a dirty program. And by all accounts, Pruitt is doing things the right way.

The Football Scoop story source was likely Freeze’s agent trying to get more money for his client.

That’s a big IF at a school that had students protest a potential hire earlier

I posted on the main football board but to recap, Hugh Freeze has such a bad reputation in the Memphis area (where I'm located) and around the SEC in general (I'm also a season ticket holder to Mississippi State) that I would be too embarrassed to tell anyone I have a degree from Liberty (I'm also a Flames Club member). Yes, it's that bad and when this news hit SEC message boards yesterday Liberty became a laughing stock overnight. Jimmy Swaggert U, "they hired the Baylor Ad so this fits perfectly with Liberty", etc. You get the point. If you want to know the real Hugh Freeze, read the book Flim Flam by Steve Robertson. Liberty can do better than this.

It is now 2:50 p.m. , with all that has gone down within the past 24 hours around college football, Freeze hasn't been named OC at Tennessee or Florida State, it increases Liberty's changes of getting him. I am not saying he will be next HC, just our chances are increased. Now granted, he may take another job before dark.

If this is true why do two SEC schools want him as their Offensive Coordinator? Also did you watch the convocation with Him, his wife and his Pastor?

That was my first thought as well

Alabama tried to hire him as an off the field coach last year and the SEC wouldn't allow it. Even the SEC knew it was toxic from a reputation stand point. The office is starting to become ok with him as an assistant in the SEC. I did watch the convocation. I hope he truly repents and I absolutely feel sorry for his wife and kids, but I also know he didn't bring up a lot of things that most in the SEC know about, even back to his days at Briarcrest (of which I attended their rival school and have multiple friends that send their kids there now). Like it or not, Hugh Freeze is regarded as the Jimmy Swaggert of football and if Liberty hires him I guess we truly don't care about our reputation. The man would tweet Bible verses the same day he was calling prostitutes. That's not conjecture, that's a fact according to the Tom Mars lawsuit who subpoenaed all of Coach Freeze's phone records since it was a university issued phone. Literally tweeting Bible verses the same day he called escort services. And those escorts were not just for Coach Freeze....there's a reason he pulled top 5 classes all of the sudden at Ole Miss. I know I'm new here, I don't want to argue with any fellow Liberty fan, but I'm willing to draw a line in the sand so Liberty doesn't throw away our mission for the ridicule that will absolutely come.

Here's an article that talked about the SEC blocking Hugh Freeze last year. This is common knowledge down here and I will not be surprised if they stop it again this year at Tennessee. Let that sink in. The SEC says they don't want Hugh Freeze because of the reputation, but Liberty says it's fine? Come on guys.

I am ok with the hire as long as he understands that there would be a zero-tolerance policy regarding any type of moral or legal violation.
I trust Ian and Jr. to make the correct decision.
Streeter would be my first choice, we will just have to see how it works out.
I do think everyone deserves a second chance, but no one deserves a third. :)

I do think it's more depth to what we are told, especially from a media that only exist to bring drama and to make people divided (political and sports alike). It's not hard to destroy anyone's image and people will not touch you just for the aftermath and not the action. That's something to consider. Also, the SEC commissioner didn't allow it because some sinner sinned and we despise such action? I find that hard to believe. Freeze was not the only coach to have done this; he was just caught doing what he was doing. And what is the response of believer once hearing this news from a media (remember what I stated earlier?) who has one goal? We tag along with the bashing like we ourselves have never sinned ever. If what Freeze did is true, then that is a broken period and I hope his repentance is true. I'm not going to say we should have him as the coach, but it's not like this society who is told what to believe from our devices is going to gave us a pat in the back. Liberty being Christian and not accepting humanistic ideas of being 'free' is the major thing that our society bashes us for. You should already be used to it. I'll say one more thing; we remember how the media reacted to the Baylor incident and LU accepting MaCaw. It was more of an uproar than the child sex ring going on at PSU (not the only school that has bee doing it and likely still doing it). We live in a society that is Anti-Jesus, we should be used to the backlash.

P.S. Welcome to the board!!

You appear to be new here, solely to bash a man who has been rebuilding his life for the better part of two or more years. He had been in counseling and getting his act together before things were made public.

His wife is one of the most eloquent witnesses I can recall seeing in a public setting and it appears to me that Liberty would give their family the exact type of soil they've been missing in college football.

No one owes Hugh Freeze a job, but we all owe one another some humility when it comes to bashing each other over our fallen humanity. He's not in the middle of the sin. He didn't just get caught. He had been coming clean to his pastor and wife a while before he was publicly exposed. God has been dealing with him and I'm prepared to see if part of this is just a chapter in a bigger plan for his life. I'm not interested in burying the man forever.

Now that he's realized all he's lost due to sin, it's time to give him an opportunity to build something for the Lord. I believe Liberty could be a perfect fit for such a redemptive story. My guess is that his wife (having gone through all of this) would enjoy the LU culture more than the SEC culture anyway.

Being ashamed to say where you attended sounds like a personal problem.
I can say here when I metion nLiberty I run across many connections to Liberty - family , friends, and so on. Not bad for Pennsylvania. for those that attack out of hate it is an opporotunity to educate. It is funny what a calm measured response can do to people.
I have in my life on multiple occassions sinned sometimes as soon as I did something related to my faith.
Purity is not the expectation in my book because we all fail daily in our walk. Granted some more than others but we each have our walk. I may not agree remotly with his actions. Obviously his drive for sin at that time was greater than his resilience. Things do change and due to my own sins I am always willing to give a hand out to improve someones walk. I still do have the once bitten twice shy. Show you improved and we are good. You have used and noy grown I will direct you to another source to continue your journey. I think that could easily be the tact with Liberty.
