Its only an emerging sport at this point so itd make more sense to add something that is already offered as an NCAA championship sport than add something and hope it becomes one once we do

According to him, a swim/dive team has 14 scholarships. As with any sport, you can divide them any way you see fit. (14 full, 28 half, etc.) If we decide to offer diving, that wont add to the amount of scholarships he has available (contrary to my comments earlier).
Well one minor correction, basketball and football for men and basketball and I believe one other sport (forgot which one it is, volleyball maybe?) for women can't have scholarships divided because they are considered full scholarship sports.
