Do you know what those reasons are? To me even if the stadium never gets horse showed in, it needs to get the upper deck on the student side regardless of what division we are in, stadium is great but looks incomplete IMO

Everything I have heard is 2nd- or 3rd-hand. But by all indications, this expansion will include elements that will make the original expansion on the other side of the field seem tame.

whatever the final expansion will be, lets just get something done, the only question I really ever had was if they were going to "horseshoe" the stadium are or were they going to build top the visiting locker room in some sort of way or build behind it. A double decker sided student section would look good but I agree you want people to be in the seats. If I am also correct I thought I heard it was only supposed to expand to around a final number of 35K. I wonder if the double decker is because now there will be no horseshoe enclosure? I am sure they have probably looked at every college stadium out there to get an idea of what they could or couldn't possibly do.

Horseshoeing the field makes for a great home field advantage, if you can fill it up with rowdy fans. But end zone seats are the least desirable in a stadium. I like the grassy hill end zone, like Wake has. It's a great place for families with little kids. I'm sure what ever they do will be first class.

My understanding is that the horseshoeing will be the 3rd stage should we need it. Yes, the student side renovation is next on the list.
