Easy to say, hard to do. FBS games are always going to be on the road. Unless you need the money like CSU, I see no reason to Schedule more than one. I´m sure HCTG and JB did everything they could to try to fill those 7 home dates with FCS games. Bottom line is there is no benefit to scheduling less than the allowed 12 games, so if you can´t get FCS teams to come, you play the teams who will.
You are right.

You have to remember that a LOT of schools had to either sacrifice that potential extra home game or sacrifice the game entirely and go with fewer than 12 games (which everybody is gonna have to address next year as well)

I agree. However, I think I remember JB saying that Liberty will only play FBS teams that they think they can win against. In other words, we won't see LU playing money / body-bag games against upper tier FBS opponents like Alabama, FSU, Clemson, etc.

I think what would help our cause is playing more games against Sun Belt and C-USA opponents. After all, these are the conferences that we're aiming for. Why not play road games against those conferences and try to gain some home-and-home series games against them in the future. It wouldn't hurt.

Looking at the schedule and FlamesNation's breakdown, I agree with most of the assessment, although I think the psychological aspect of not winning in Lynchburg since 2005 will be in CCU's heads (lost their last three trips to Williams Stadium by a combined 158-64). The seniors for CCU this year upcoming have never won here, and Alex Ross (the likely starter for them this season) has never played here. I think it will not be a pasting on that level, but I dont think CCU is going to win this year.

Agreed, especially on the Sun Belt side of things. Games at schools like ULL, ULM, and Troy are hopefully being pursued.
