If you want to talk ASUN smack or ramble ad nauseum about your favorite pro or major college teams, this is the place to let it rip.

Jigga what? Every year the ACC destroys the Big 10 in November and we're supposed to be amazed. They lost for the first time ever, I think, and people are down on them. This year is the first year that the BE has been "hyped" in a long long time. And rightfully so. It was deeeep this year and made every other conference look silly last year (after the hypsters were quiet on them). Did they flame out early in the tournament? Yes. Did the ACC? Yes. Does the Big 10 send a bunch of teams deep into the tournament every year? Yes. Are they the best conference? Heck no.

The ACC didn't flame out early... they won the games they should have won for the most part, GT pulled an upset. Duke is looking strong, oh, and the NIT is pretty ACC dominated with two in the final 4.

It was a down year, and they're still doing well in the Tourney.

GT- Upset win, followed by a good game vs. Ohio State (loss)
Wake- Upset of Texas, loss to UK (expected)
Maryland- 4 seed lost on a buzzer beater to a 5 seed.
Duke- Cruising.
Clemson- Upset in 7-10 game
UNC and VT- Final Four in the NIT

let's stop the 7/10 upset talk. That is no more an upset than a 9 over an 8 (which you also alluded to as an upset :BS ) Also, the NIT talk is silly, teams don't get up for that garbage.

The ACC has 1 team left after the first weekend. That is definitely a flame out, if you can say such a thing about a vague phrase. Just as the BE did as well.

VT is not in the final four for the NIT. They made the round of 8.

Dayton, Ole Miss, Rhode Island, & UNC are the NIT FF.

In Sweet 16 news, #1 West seed Syracuse goes down to Butler and WVU has first half trouble against Washington but escapes. Xavier and Kansas State play double OT thriller with KSU moving on. and Kentucky did not have much trouble with Cornell.

I am hanging at Reliant. Baylor is making it look ugly. St. Marys fans & band have signs & shirts that say 'God is a Gael'.

I am tweeting if you are interested.

My picks to go to the final four:
Tennessee - I think the depth is going to help UT a lot. I personally hate UT, so hopefully Michigan State will prove me wrong
Kansas State - Pullen and Clemente combined with the solid post game are more than Butler can handle IMHO
Kentucky - had West VA in my bracket, but UK can play D just as good as West VA and their offense is much better
Baylor - picked them in my bracket, and after the demolition of st. mary's, i see no other reason why to change my pick

This is really hard to watch. WVU can barely get the ball past half court at this point. Surely Huggins has some towel waving walk on that can dribble the ball better than these guys.

ok, now they the dragon has been slain, what does UK look like next year? Bledsoe, Cousins and Wall have got to all be gone. But I'm sure the top 5 recruits are coming in.

Patterson is like a 10th year senior right? So he's gone too. I don't think the squid will ever get a championship. Is vacating a final 8 appearance the same as when it's the final 4?

He did not commit until a few days AFTER the final deadline for universities to object to the "soon to be adopted" rule allowing foreign players who did not get paid to play on pro teams to be immediately eligible. UK purposefully waited until after that period passed to see if the rule would not go into effect - they weren't going to take him if he was going to end up not being able to play. Additionally, Kanter's family also has the documentation to prove he did not get paid because all along he wanted to preserve his eligibility status

There is a chance Bledsoe comes back, by the way. Chance Orton is gone, but I'm not really sure about that. It's really iffy at this point.

UK has Stacey Poole signed - a 4* small forward on rivals and ranked 27th, listed as an SG on espn with a grade of 94 and ranked 51st, on scout he is a 4* SF ranked 11th at his position.

Brandon Knight, the two-time national player of the year, is apparently going to be UK bound based on what everyone "in the know" is saying now. Additionally, UK is on the radar of just about every top 50-100 recruit who hasn't signed or committed anywhere. So, basically, UK is going to come away with another top notch class, just no one really has any clue who will be in it and how many, depends a lot on who all declares for the draft. A lot of the top guys seem to be waiting until the late signing period this year to sign on with a school, so there is going to be a lot of action going on with spring recruiting for the 2010 HS class.

Actually he's only a junior. Academically he is a senior because he is graduating a year early. He's leaving for the NBA though.

no no no, THAT is a recruitment that I've been following closely and the only people saying it's a done deal to UK is Kentucky fans. In the end I think he'll end up there but it's still wide open.

Apparently you haven't been following it very closely - all of the below are non-Kentucky sources, mostly Florida sources actually, saying Knight is UK bound or very likely UK bound

Doesn't mean who's going to UK for sure, but the "news" keeps coming out more and more nearly every day from non-UK sources that Knight is very likely to end up at UK.

For Baylor's and Tennessee's sake, I hope your picks for tomorrow and better than today .

"[Kentucky's] offense is much better" - how do you feel about that now? Yikes!

Today, two better TEAMS beat clubs with greater individual talent. Very good 5-person basketball played by both Butler & WVU. That's what it takes, and why coaches like Calipari may well NEVER win a title. It takes more than slick (illegal?) recruiting!

If K-State doesnt come off a 2OT game vs. Xavier the score is much different IMO. KSt was astronomically sloppy in their layup attempts and defense. I don't understand why they put in that useless press - more running for K-State and it never worked.
