Yes, the concept of ownership of conferences and sports is a legitimate factor in all sports moving forward. It was even bandied about in LU circles a few years ago when we were trying to creatively buy our way into FBS membership. thankfully it never came to that point.

Allegedly there is discussion of Stanford/Cal as football-only possibilities for the ACC. Not sure who that really helps on either side of the equation. But it is a possubility.

McMurphy is reporting that the Big XII is done where they are. No more hoops or Pac-4 leftovers for them.

If Stanford/Cal do step away from the Pac, it does create some interesting possibilities. I don't see any impacting us directly.

I’m not sure what I hate more…Cal/Stanford to the ACC plus all the other recent moves that put schools in conferences they don’t belong…or…and this pains me…that I sound like ballcoach complaining about it.

Louisville and Notre Dame are too far west to be in ACC. Adding California and Stanford makes no sense at all. It's 2,816 miles from NC State to Stanford. ACC appears to be in panic mode.

ACC should add Liberty and one other school.

Yes, adding Liberty and UConn will halt FSU and Clemson trying to leave, they will feel so much more at ease, they will probably even offer some of their current share of revenue $ to make us feel welcome as the highest paid members and also give up their home vs ND games to LU to entice us with a guaranteed ND game annually once they realize ND is to far west anyway - we must not fall for that !!!

I just read where Pac12 was considering adding from multiple conferences including Sun Belt. Would y’all want to be in the PAC12, assuming LU sought out membership and would the PAC retain its A5 status as a conference at that point. Interesting stuff

I read some tweets that said OSU & WSU were determined to keep the PAC# going. If they can sustain it, I'd guess that lawyers would probably determine whether or not they keep their P5/A5 status.
