If Biden wins let's see what he has in mind.

You say Potato...

Trump as a political figure is born out of Obama. A type of candidate like him is a direct response to the policies and decisions of those 8 years.

I can only imagine what the pendulum’s response will be to Harris.

At what odds would you stake his ability to finish four years?

Kudos to Joe and really the folks behind him propping him up. No small feat to win an election by putting the spotlight entirely on the other candidate. Problem is, as awesome a feat as that has been, the result is now you actually have to do the job. He can’t. He’s a lifetime public servant and now a shell of his former self. Too many voted anti-Trump instead of pro-Joe. But now you get Joe...and soon enough, Kamala.

Be careful what you wish for America; now you’ve got it.

I think with the medical care he has access to, it would be quite surprising if he doesn't make it 4 years. I don't think I see him running again after that.

Health probably dosen't mater, as long as he's breathing. He will not be making any policy or decisions.

Yeah, people like to say, but the data says this or that. It's objective. Case closed. And then try to school you on all the proper procedures. However, the interpretation comes from within the person. And people have limitations, bias, emotion, and so on. Not trying to devalue anything. Just saying--don't assume that all "experts" have common sense.

Ahh, but if any of those 613 die, it will be chalked up as a Covid death. So it’s kinda relevant
#614150
Not really. The claim is that 150 people suddenly vanished from the hospital, either trying to discredit the data overall or trying to imply some kind of conspiracy. But the claim isn’t true.

You’re trying to make a different point than the tweeter, but if we look at excess deaths this year, the real number of COVID deaths is likely much higher than the reported number, not lower.

The overall death rate this year is the highest since....last year. You have to go back to something like 1976 to find a remarkable number. But even if it was the highest since 1976, would that be enough to wreck the economy?

Total death rate would be all deaths. The rate has been pretty steady past 40 years. Nothing usual with where it is now. The fact that this is a health issue for only the most vulnerable w/high risk conditions is common knowledge.

...but not this year. I’ve provided you with the sourced data that says otherwise. “Common knowledge” is not a source.

Here’s more from the data if you didn’t read my link:

“ Deaths among white people in 2020 were just 11.9% higher than average years, a much lower increase than deaths among Latinx people (53.6% higher than average), Asian people (36.6% higher), Black people (32.9% higher), and American Indians and Alaska Natives (28.9% higher).”

“ There were also differences among different age groups, with the largest increase occurring among people age 25 to 44, who saw excess deaths that were 26.5% higher than average. People 45 to 64 had 14.4% more deaths, while those 65 to 74 had 24.1% more deaths. Deaths among people 75 to 84 were 21.5% higher and 14.7% higher for people 85 and above. Deaths this year for people under 25, however, were 2% below average.”

Even the lowest increase among different demographics was 11.9%, a statistically significant jump. Deaths for ages 25 to 44 being up 26.5% this year is pretty alarming as well, since it’s counter to the narrative.

I'm not trying to say that your calculator is broken or anything. Overall death rate would be every death. It grew at the same rate as last year--we are essentially the same w/historical death rate @8.8. You have to go back to the 1970s to find numbers in the 9s.

Speaking of Anthony Faucci, he was much better back in the 90s when he was the secret songwriter for the Bare Naked Ladies. He penned some great lines back in those days. "I'm lying in bed, just like Brian Wilson did," is probably the most relevant thing that he ever said. I'm not sure what it all means, but it's something that just kinda sticks with ya once you hear it. Back then he was more of a depression guy--but now he's more of an anxiety guy. Now it's just my opinion, but I always thought that he was a little more realistic as a depression guy.
